I just realized I should probably pin my web novels on my profile, so I'm making this post to do exactly that. Here they are. Please check them out. ๐โโ๏ธ

@En_daichi I agree with you on that. These days, there's just more focus on reducing the time and labor spent in creating animations than focus on quality and producing the skilled talents to create such wonderful animations like those of the past.
@En_daichi That's true. I still remember how amazingly animated old series were, and how they never skimped on the details, even when it came to the internals of a mecha, for example. A lot of animation today can't even hold a candle to the amount of dedication put into older animations.
@En_daichi That being said, I think it's not a bad thing that Japanese animation is influencing the tastes of other animation forms. If anything, it's a testament to the strength of Japanese animation in that it's appealing to such a wide variety of audiences.

@En_daichi I don't really have many strong feelings for the Chinese animation itself. It's not exactly "surpassing" Japanese animation, after all. There are a lot of Japanese animations of significantly higher animation quality than this Chinese one.

@En_daichi I agree with that. And I would love it if they created something unique themselves. But I would also have to argue that not every one can create something special with the same degree of cultural influence. I'd like to express myself a lot better, but explaining on X is hard.
@En_daichi And the stuff you'd see in martial arts movies were really cool too. If they could improve upon those roots, then that'd be amazing to see in action. In fact, I wish there were more of those that get popularized, because the action scenes in those movies are amazing.

@En_daichi Mhm. I'd argue that both are good.
Taking inspiration from anime/foreign movies isn't a bad thing. Hollywood used to do that all the time, though these days, movies coming out of the West severely lack that old flair.

Chapter 140 is done! This one's a slight change of pace. Writing chapters like these feels pretty nice to do once in a while.

@asianrobo@gerogeroR People like that tend not to look at the topic all that deeply anyway. They see something they don't like, react without much thought, then expect or even demand that there be no consequences for their own words. Then they expect support to punish people who disagree.
Patterns.
@sizue98 I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope that these days have been easier for you online.
Best learn to spot the performative arguers by how they treat other users in a discussion. They just want ears, not a conversation.
