I want folks to reflect on the logic which the government is following on the flow of information.

1. Indian news channels ran programming for hours last night reporting that the Indian Navy had been deployed and had bombed and destroyed Karachi Port.
2. Indian news channels ran stories that the Indian army had entered Pakistan.
3. Indian news channels ran stories that India has captured Islamabad.
4. Indian channels ran stories about suicide terror strikes in Rajouri

All of this 'reporting' by major new channels was not just fake news but also inflammatory and provocative and clearly intended to ensure the very escalation (from the Pakistani side) that the Indian government has cautioned against from the outset.

Earlier, channels described an Indian Muslim victim of Pakistani shelling in Poonch as a Lashkar-e-Tayyaba terrorist.

Instead of firmly clearing the air with respect to this kind of dangerous reporting, the government issued instructions to Internet Service Providers across India to block access to The Wire — one of the largest Indian news platforms that has been reporting on the emerging situation with responsibility and restraint.

The blocking order is unconstitutional. It is an attack on press freedom and on the right of every Indian to access information. It must be lifted immediately.

Arguably the only religious leader with a clearer conscience than most world leaders.I think he was a man of deep conviction. I admired his courage and how he spoke up for #Palestinian children and civilians till his last breath.

In spite of the criticism I have deservedly launched at Harris and her supporters for both their role in genocide and their pig-headed refusal to acknowledge their own courting and enabling of fascism, I take no joy in this moment.

Trump is not the answer. He’s a terrible leader, a figure of division and someone whose politics I comprehensively disagree with on pretty much every topic.

But the Democratic Party has just committed a genocide. A genocide. The weight of this crime must be impossible to counterbalance. Genocide must be a hard line. And hard lines require hard compromises.

In spite of the rhetoric, I doubt Trump 2.0 will be a whole lot different than from his last time as president, because presidents don’t really run the Empire.

It’s unlikely he’ll do anything different on Gaza, too — the issue that is clearly the most important to voters with a conscience that reaches beyond their borders. That means the ethnic cleansing will continue, the genocide will continue, the burning of families alive and starving of children to death will continue.

So this means *we* must continue. And more, we must use this moment as best we can — any way we can.

And so there is a topic that needs to be brought to the front of the conversation: the Democrats chose US imperialism over international law and lost.

They should not be given a sniff of power again until they confront their role in genocide. This vacuum allows the best chance for a third party to rise than any time in the last five decades in US politics.

This moment may mark the beginning of the end of the duopoly.

The Democrats turned their backs on their own people in favour of Israel’s genocide and lost. It’s a small window, but it’s a chance to build the anti-imperialist movement in the US, and we must grab it with both hands.
