@CP24 Raising minimum won’t ever fix anything as it directly affects the cost of living on product or service that pays minimum wage. Instead they should be increasing the income tax exempt portion of wages to at least the poverty line. 60k would be better.

@kirawontmiss If you collect tips as part of your wages you should tip every service provider you use as well. Garbage collectors, plumbers, internet provider, kids teachers. It’s only fair… 30% each?

@mario4thenorth Everything else from pens to MRI machines is paid for by the individual hospitals fundraising branch. It’s is also why all hospitals charge so much for parking… we raised $25k to equip one hospital room a few years back.

@mario4thenorth Hey Mario, just a quick FYI for you, I learned while fundraising for our local hospital. The government doesn’t pay for the equipment in your hospital. They pay for construction and maintenance of the building as well as salaries for staff.

@WeAreCanProud He doesn’t need to. By increasing the tax on the business side, he gets more money from the consumers without any of the hate as businesses take all the heat for increasing their prices.

Perhaps if people had a clear idea of why their costs were constantly going up they would make different choices about who governs their tax dollars and how it is spent.

There’s been a lot of talk about Amazon displaying cost of tariffs on their receipt. I think it’s a great idea, but it needs to go farther. Display cost of inflation as well. Over the last 20 years our prices have increased 398% due to increase cost of doing business.
