@davelove1 … compromising fish welfare and the quality of the salmon. This reduction in LC-PUFAs is also evident in the Scottish salmon industry. However, I do not think the levels will be further reduced in the future, as a lot of research is currently focusing on new feed ingredients.

@davelove1 Thank you! The reduction of EPA and DHA is a result of limited availability and volatile prices of marine ingredients. Like for all vertebrates, salmon have a minimum requirement of these fatty acids, so replacing 100% of the feed with plant ingredients is not possible without…
