I cannot believe Wes Streeting – who has ABSOLUTELY NO defence background – is now the UK Defence Minister.

When I was coming up, Streeting was the National Union of Students president. He was known as a pushover back then. Now he's supposed to be in charge of Britain's National Security.

So who, exactly, is he?

Born in London, Streeting's grandparents were imprisoned for armed robbery. He went to Westminster City School, then studied History at Cambridge. He first gained notoriety in 2009 for tweeting: "There would be nothing natural about Jan Moir’s death if I shoved the bigoted old bag under a train" after she wrote a mildly conservative column for the Daily Mail.

Then, he worked as a public sector consultant (i.e. a "non-job") for PricewaterhouseCoopers, before going on to be failed London Mayor candidate Oona King's head of policy.

He then worked for LGBT charity Stonewall, promoting "LGBT education" in schools.

He has worked as a local councillor for a brief time, before being elected to parliament in 2015 in London. He repeatedly tried to overturn the Brexit referendum vote, and then backed Jess Phillips for Labour leader.

In 2025, he defended perennial wrong-un Peter Mandelson, friend of Jeffrey Epstein, claiming he should not be judged as "guilty by association."

His partner is Joe Dancey, another LGBT advocate, who has served as Labour's director of policy & comms.

With a fragile parliamentary majority of just 528, Streeting is perhaps one of the least ever qualified – if not the VERY LEAST QUALIFIED EVER – to be Britain's defence minister.

He won't be taken seriously in Washington, Brussels, and especially not in Moscow.

So what exactly is this trumped up student politician doing running one of the largest militaries in the entire world?

Chancellor John Healey’s pension plan comes under fire. It’s being criticised for being “two-tier”

The “two-tier system” refers to a controversial tax policy where pensioners who rely solely on the UK state pension are entirely exempt from income tax, while those with private or workplace retirement savings face tax bills on their entire income.
