2025. My most challenging yet joyous year yet. Started with a head & neck cancer diagnosis. Summer of treatment. Redundancy at the end of summer. Married late November. Not sure how 2026 is going to look. Here's hoping it's gentler!
Watching @amolrajan#amolgoestotheganges in absolute tears. We lost our dad's at the same time and I felt your grief so keenly. Thank you for sharing this journey; a beautiful piece of film. May his memory be a blessing ๐งก
@sarajcox My mum is a non smart phone user, so uses predictive text function. It doesn't recognise my daughter's name, Niamh. So hence forth when mum texts me about her she gets referred to as Miami as that's all the phone can offer her instead!
@sharrond62@DrCharlesL 2/2 then during preop at hosp they told me to see GP for BP meds in prep for cancer op in 9 days time. Rang reception to be told 'no appt left, call back at 8am or go to urgent care at hospital'. I am fearful of the level of support they can't give whilst I have radio chemo soon
@sharrond62@DrCharlesL This was my exact scenario at the start of the year. Ended up paying privately to see ENT Consultant to then receive a tonsil cancer diagnosis. Imagine if I didn't have the tenacity or funds to do that. The 'computer says no' attitude of receptionists is appalling too 1/2
@sarajcox I once woke to the sensation something had jumped onto my head. Turned the bedside light on, confused, to find a ginger cat blinking back at me. I don't own a ginger cat. It became a frequent night time visitor & was hence named 'Spare Cat'! from Amanda in Chorley.
@John_Dabell I've followed you for such a long time and here I am now, newly diagnosed (yet to start treatment). You always were inspirational, now even more so.
@maxc73 Thank you for writing your account. As someone who has just hopped on to the tonsil bus, newly diagnosed (treatment yet to be determined) this has been helpful for me to share with family as a 'what might be coming' prep. Wishing you a beautiful, healthy long life Sir. ๐ค
@sarajcox Phenomenon. I have to say 'it's an incredibly rare and unusual thing..' instead. However, I can say phenomenally, but only if I sing it, a la Justin Timberlake in Can't Stop The Feeling song!
@mrscmway My claim to fame is that I once stood on his foot in a packed hotel bar in the Lake District. I didn't realise it was him until I turned to apologise. I was so embarrassed. Poor guy! The Detectorists is the best thing ever on British TV
@bt_uk please advise how to get a cease & reprovide for business broadband sorted. 7 weeks since requested. BT Local business seem no help, neither does your complaints team. This is impacting us beyond belief and no one at BT seems to care. #lancashire
@bt_uk@bt_uk sadly no one is interested (as previously stated). How you can leave a funeral directors without broadband for 7 weeks and not engage with your client is breathtaking. Operators constantly pass from dept to dept with empty promises. It looks like the Ombudsman is next!
