The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
I'm watching the Shania Twain documentary on Netflix and I forgot how great her music was/is. Love it. But also omg the sexism. So thankful for women like her who pushed through it and helped things evolve.
It's been a while since I've gotten into any tv show at all, but I really enjoyed watching "The Gilded Age" recently. Good "Downton Abbey"-style low-stakes drama with pretty costumes and even prettier sets, and a few pretty well-written and likeable characters.
@StoneBumChum @GoldberryBecca I also have so little experience with this so far because Covid has meant I haven't gone out in public all that much with a baby lol
A lady came up to me yesterday, asked me if I had a baby boy (no, it's a girl - she was wearing a blue/purple flower dress and yellow leggings). She then said to me, "it used to be girls were pink and boys were blue." I said, 'Well, she's multicolor." 🌈🦄 *cue the Rupaul music*
@StoneBumChum @GoldberryBecca it was SO weird. I hate people I don't know coming up to my baby. I get really protective. I would have walked away quickly, but was waiting for a light to change so she'd kinda trapped me.
I love history, so am kind of amused by the Hamilton cast performing in front of Buckingham Palace for the royal family tonight. Cheers to Her Majesty, 70 years at one job is ... a lot. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦
@meadowcomber @pineylonesome Also I miss those Jiffy mixes. I had an American relative tell me recently to make something out of one and I was like...uh, they do not exist here 🤷🏻♀️
@meadowcomber @pineylonesome I was just thinking this same thing, lol. Canada is so short of Tex-Mex (Mexicali? see, I am not even sure of the right term) food. I'd go for it. This "bad" salad in California would be downright delightful here.
I just got an email saying that I was selected to have a larger community garden plot (I'm going from 100 sq feet to 200 sq feet). Excuse me while I go start more seeds. (When you're Laura Ingalls Wilder, but it's 2022 and you're in a city)
