Individual Title of 2024 X-C Season

MONTGOMERY – White Plains High School senior Maddyn Conn just keeps winning.|
Conn, a Jacksonville State commit, earned her eighth individual title of the season clocking 18:25.76 to win the Calhoun County Championship in Anniston for the third straight year to run into this week’s AHSAA Cross Country Spotlight. She also set a new Fort McClellan course record and led the Wildcats to the team title.
“Maddyn should win sectionals, and she’ll be favored at state,” White Plains coach Chase Cotton told East Alabama Today after the meet. “You can’t really say enough for what she’s done for our school. All of the girls look up to her.
“A parent said it best the other day,” the coach continued. “They posted a picture of her, and it’s very true what they said. She’s the kind of kid you want your kids to be like. She’s got the highest character. She’s the greatest person. To throw all of that on top of a phenomenal athlete, a generational athlete, I don’t know that there will ever be a more decorated athlete at our school again.”
Conn’s County title gives her plenty of momentum heading into this week’s AHSAA Section meet. All classes will host section meets with qualifiers advancing to the AHSAA State Meet November 9 at at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Oakville.
She won the Class 4A individual title in 2022 and 2023, and she ran a new personal record time of 18:11.57 at the Lake Guntersville Invitational earlier this month.
At the Calhoun County Championship, teammate Abbie Dickeson finished third in 20:51.20 and Emerson Newton was sixth in 21:34.64 to help the Wildcats edge Jacksonville for the team title.
Headlining last week’s boys’ cross-country action was Oak Mountain’s boys team, which placed six runners in the top 12 to win the at the Last Chance Invitational at the John R. Esslinger Trail of Champions in Scottsboro.
Oak Mountain senior John Shoemaker won the individual title with a time of 15.19.88, while third-place Cooper Jeffcoat (15:58.11), 12th-place Sam Trammell (16:24.22) and 14th-place Luke Marvin (16:25.65) set new personal-record times.
The cross-country regular season is essentially finished with section meets set for Thursday through Saturday. The state meet is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Oakville

Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!

Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years.

The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the “Democratic” Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!

Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying “asylum seekers”, who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.

America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only “elections” will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty.

The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America. Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape.

Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco.

The Biden Admin has just officially abolished Title IX as we knew it. Now, sex = gender identity.

In a nutshell, the new rewrite means:
- men can take academic AND athletic scholarships from women
- men will have FULL access to bathrooms, locker rooms, etc
