@ShannaPritchard@TheBikingLawyer@CycleToronto the fencing runs all the way down to Queen St W. the painted bike icons in the lane were grinded off all the way down. there is a sign indicating what’s going on closer to Dundas but it was placed in the median of University so I couldn’t read it.
@BlueJayHunter I joined the queue 20 mins before 10, had 7,800 people ahead of me (for game 2, which I thought would not be an issue due to venue capacity), but was only single seats and resale when I was let in to buy around 10:15AM
what an absurd and backwards legislative proposal from the Ford government at a time when cyclist deaths in the City of Toronto are the highest they’ve been in years, and GHG emissions from the transportation sector remain one of the country’s highest sources of emissions.
Reports have come out that the Ontario government is planning legislation that would block the installation of bike lanes where motor vehicle lanes would have to be reduced.

until Feb 15th - have your say to make Parkside Drive more cycle-friendly! dedicated cycling connections between Bloor St W and the lakefront would be a great addition to the west end cycle network.
In consultation with the community, the City is identifying changes to Parkside Drive, from Keele Subway Station to the Martin Goodman Trail, to improve safety and mobility on the corridor with a focus on pedestrians, people cycling and other vulnerable road users. (1/2)
The SCC takes issue with the “public internet decision” in the IAA, saying the federal gov’s decision-making authority for designated projects is not driven by the regulation of “effects within federal jurisdiction.”
The Court has allowed the appeal in part in Reference re Impact Assessment Act. It ruled the federal impact assessment scheme is largely unconstitutional. Read the plain language summary: https://t.co/zJeFU40WEO. #CdnLaw#constitutionallaw
The SCC also takes issue with the IAA’s definition of “effects within federal jurisdiction,” noting that the definition is over-broad, exceeding federal jurisdiction and encompassing aspects that are within provincial jurisdiction.
The Supreme Court will deliver its judgment on the following appeal on October 13, 2023, at 9:45 a.m. ET: Attorney General of Canada v. Attorney General of Alberta. A plain language summary of the judgment will accompany the decision. https://t.co/oCcj0AsKEl

Just ten herds of deep-snow caribou remain in B.C. — all at the cusp of local extinction. The province spends millions on extreme measures that fail to address a key factor of their disappearance: habitat destruction. Via @sarahcox_bc https://t.co/63k21JxAiX

@xokasia I used to take classes at the gardiner museum. if you don't sign up the day classes are released (or within a few days after), they're often sold out. existing students always got early notice of class sign-up. you could consider looking at places with drop-in studio time!
