#eng115csr AI Marketing is great when it comes to Amazon and suggested products, but I do agree that the AI on customer service calls are extremely unhelpful as no matter what you say, it’s still confused 🙄😂
#eng115csr the topic of self driving cars is so tricky, as I obviously would not want to hit someone to save myself but also not kill myself to save a stranger. I liked the point that just because we have the tech to build something doesn’t mean we should do it.
#eng115csr NFTs have always confused me. I understand what they are (I guess lol) but I’ve never understood the appeal. Sure, you can say you have that NFT, but for SO MUCH money, that’s insane.
#eng115csr something I’ve noticed in recent apple updates with warnings like the app tracking one is that they switched the order of the response buttons; usually the one to cancel or block something is on the bottom, but here, that’s the allow option. Is it intentional?👀
#eng115csr “gotcha games” are definitely annoying when I play them; I download it thinking it’s free and then to make the most of the game you have to pay! 🙄 definitely a very interesting and creative topic!
#eng115csr it was interesting in Paige’s presentation that on 7% of personal communication is made up of spoken words. That seems very minimal, but makes sense now that texts are so common.
Some pics from the portion of today’s #NationalDayOnWriting event I got to attend! So fun captioning some memes, voting for a spooky story (even though mine didn’t make it😭) and sharing why I write! Look out for a Chronicle story this week!👀 #eng115csr
#TheSocialDilemma#eng115csr I’ve never seen a kid go as far as to smash the safe to get their phone, so if anyone’s kid is really acting like that lady’s… good luck 🤡😂
#TheSocialDilemma#eng115csr It’s one thing to make us look at more ads to make companies more money, but the fact that sites like Facebook can influence us so much as to vote certain ways in elections is crazy. That really changes the world more than anything: who leads us.
#eng115csr#TheSocialDilemma It’s interesting that the goal to keep users scrolling for longer was brought up, when today, on platforms like TikTok, I’ve actually seen ad videos directed towards a user to take a break and stop scrolling. So is that changing now?
#TheSocialDilemma#eng115csr The point made about how these tech companies are investing in “trading human futures” really put the message into perspective here. How social media is slightly changing how you think/who you are is insane, honestly scary in a way…
#eng115csr#TheSocialDilemma I found it interesting that the interviewees can’t name the specific problem w/ digital tech; it reminds me of the debate between cyber-optimism VS pessimism & how there’s no clean-cut side to take. There’s pros AND cons, never one or the other.
