Anniversary of the Kurdistan Uprising: On March 5th, 1991, the people of Kurdistan, rose up against the Ba'ath regime. This uprising, which began in Ranya, became a significant point in the political history of Kurdistan. As a result, an autonomous Kurdish region was created that became the foundation of the Kurdistan Region. This uprising brought about fundamental changes in the political situation of the Kurds. Internationally, this event drew the world community's attention to the Kurdish cause and led to the creation of a new framework for protecting the rights of the Kurdish people.
