In his youth, a young Prince Viserys claimed Balerion.
He was the dragon's fourth and final rider (following Aegon the Conqueror, King Maegor the Cruel, and Princess Aerea).
By the time Viserys claimed him, Balerion was over 200 years old, massive, and completely decaying from old age.
Less than a year later, Balerion passed away of old age.
After Balerion died, Viserys never bonded with another dragon.
In Targaryen lore, a rider cannot claim a new dragon while theirs is alive, and many riders choose never to bond again if their dragon dies, out of grief or respect.
It’s wild how common this is. Whenever you ask a man what he likes about his girlfriend, it’s always something about her looks or what she does for him.
“We’re 45 minutes early” HOW HOW HOW DO PILOTS DO THAT- you just take a quick little shortcut IN THE SKY??? Are you SPEEDING??
Not complaining but I just don’t understand how they save THAT much time
