Anytime I post about "we used this in the JioCinema app" on Twitter, bunch of folks ask questions about how did we "re-write" ๐
Just FYI, these days when you watch IPL or something else on the app, most of the code path that gets executed to bring it to you is <1yr old.
The app is <2yrs old. There are no rewrites (yet).
Yeah it is a whole different world from what you expect from working at a typical "big company" tech team which often involves tons of legacy code. We don't have any legacy code because we don't have much legacy yet ๐ซ and we don't do *re*writes because we are still writing things for the first time.
(I don't mean legacy to be bad, just to mean old and using older conventions/frameworks. Legacy code can be really well written and beautiful too)
