MEA says - Today, the Russian Chargé d’Affaires, Vladimir Ladanov, was summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs. The Ministry conveyed India's grave concerns and unequivocal condemnation of the attack on the commercial vessel MV Golden Leo on 19 July 2026, which resulted in the tragic loss of four Indian lives, emphasizing that such attacks undermine the safety, security, and stability of international maritime commerce.
The Russian Chargé d’Affaires was requested to convey India’s strong concerns to his authorities that the targeting of commercial shipping and the resulting loss of innocent civilian lives are unacceptable and must be avoided.

#WATCH | Katra, J&K: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra remains suspended for the second day amid persistent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions in the region. The pilgrimage has been temporarily halted in view of the prevailing weather conditions to ensure the safety of devotees.
The pilgrimage is expected to resume once weather conditions improve and the route is considered safe for movement.

#WATCH | Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra: Leading Fireman Shahaji Kopnkar says, "At 7:18 AM, our fire control room received a call reporting a fire in a flat in the Walhekarwadi area. Immediately after the call, a fire team was dispatched to the scene... Upon arrival, we learned that the building was a ground-plus-two-story structure and that people were trapped inside the flat. Preliminary inquiries suggest the fire started while an electric bike was being charged on the ground floor. We rescued one person, and the fire is now fully under control. Regarding the damage, two bikes were burnt, and one person sustained injuries; there was no other major damage. We are currently investigating the cause of the fire..."

#WATCH | Uttarakhand: The SDRF received information through the CCR, Dehradun, that seven people had become stranded on a small river island near Santala Devi Temple in the Cantt police station area after the river’s water level rose suddenly due to continuous rainfall. Immediate rescue assistance was requested. Upon receiving the alert, an SDRF rescue team from the Sahastradhara Post, led by Sub-Inspector Rajbar Rana, rushed to the spot with the necessary rescue equipment.
On arrival, the team found that persistent rainfall had caused the river’s water level and current to rise significantly. Surrounded by the swollen river from all sides, the seven individuals were trapped on the island with no safe means of escaping on their own. Assessing the seriousness of the situation, the SDRF coordinated with the local police and launched a rescue operation without delay.

The incident occurred near Dera Sachkhand Ballan, around 10–15 km before Jalandhar. He immediately instructed his team to shift the injured woman to a hospital in his vehicle and ensured that she received prompt medical attention before continuing his journey.

In view of reports of a proposed march to Parliament by CJP on 20.07.2026 (Monday), Delhi Police hereby categorically clarifies that no permission has been sought or granted for any such protest march/procession.
Prohibitory order under Section 163 BNSS (erstwhile section 144 CrPC) is in force in the New Delhi District. *Accordingly, protest marches, processions, demonstrations and assemblies of five or more persons are strictly prohibited*, except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar, with prior permission.
As Parliament session is commencing from 20 July, strict security arrangements are in place to ensure public safety, security of protectees, and the protection of vital government installations.
Any person violating these prohibitory orders shall be liable for prosecution under Section 223 BNS and other applicable provisions of law.
Delhi Police appeals to all citizens to respect the law, refrain from participating in any unauthorised gathering or march, and cooperate in maintaining public peace, safety and security.

Safdarjung Hospital issues Sonam Wangchuk's health update, "Sonam Wangchuck was received and admitted at Safdarjung hospital for required health care at 7.40 am today. He is weak due to prolonged fasting and dehydration. Although he is currently stable, he requires continuous observation, monitoring and treatment to restore his body parameters."
#WATCH | Andhra Pradesh: India's first privately developed orbital-class rocket, Vikram-1, is scheduled to launch for its maiden test flight, "Mission Aagaman," today at 11:30 AM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
Developed by Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace, the 24-meter carbon-composite rocket will independently deploy up to 350 kg of payloads into a 450 km Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Payloads include a lab-grown "Diamond Lotus" by Cosmos Diamonds.
Visuals show the Vikram-1 rocket stationed at the First Launch Pad and ISRO and Skyroot scientists carrying out final preparations.

According to preliminary information, Sajid Ali’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while the bodies of his wife and three children were found lying on the floor. Police suspect a case of collective suicide and have initiated an investigation.
ADCP Raipur West, Rahul Dev Sharma said, "In the Sanjay Nagar area under Tikarapara police station, a family of 5 people was found dead. Four bodies, including those of the wife and three children, were found lying on the ground, while the head of the family, Sajid, was found hanging. The bodies will be sent for post-mortem to determine the actual cause of death. Further details will emerge after the investigation."
