Helping Every Child Build Skills for the Future
At the 2026 Chery International User Summit, @SilviaDanailov, UNICEF Representative in Viet Nam, shared how the CHERY for UNICEF global education partnership is helping children build the skills, confidence and resilience they need to shape their futures.
Since 2023, with the support of partners like CHERY, UNICEF has helped nearly 178 million out-of-school children access education and enabled 126 million children to learn through digital platforms.
Today, this global partnership spans six countries, supporting children across Viet Nam, China, Mexico, South Africa, Türkiye, and Indonesia, united by a shared vision: powering every child's learning journey.
Drawing on examples from @UNICEF Viet Nam, @SilviaDanailov highlighted how this shared commitment is creating impact both globally and in local communities.
In Viet Nam, the partnership goes beyond digital learning as usual. It advances an equity-driven, human-centred approach to digital and AI learning: transforming how children learn, protecting their well-being and online safety, building skills for the future of work, and creating a more inclusive education ecosystem.
With CHERY's support, UNICEF is bringing digital learning, future skills and new opportunities to children across Viet Nam, including many who might otherwise be left behind:
· More than 1.36 million students, approximately half of whom are girls, have gained access to inclusive digital learning and future skills.
· 57,240 teachers have strengthened their competencies in digital learning, AI and STEM/STEAM education.
· 8,400 teachers are better equipped to support students’ mental health and psychosocial well-being.
These results demonstrate the power of investing in education. When a child gains confidence, new possibilities emerge. When a teacher develops new skills, hundreds of students benefit. And when schools embrace innovation, entire communities can thrive.
Together, let’s keep powering every child’s learning journey.

Every child has a voice worth hearing and a story worth celebrating.
Let’s keep breaking down barriers and creating spaces where every child can participate, thrive and experience joy.

"What brings you joy?" This is one of the questions our audience wanted to ask children with intellectual disabilities.
As part of the 'Childhood, Without Barriers' campaign on #DisabilityInclusion, we invited children to share their answers. Read more: https://t.co/8ctl5RrY7m
Proud to see this partnership take shape.
My sincere thanks to China’s Ministry of Education, Tianjin, Shandong and Zhejiang governments, and our partners in Egypt, Ghana and Rwanda.
Together, let’s turn skills into opportunity, and opportunity into brighter futures.
At the World TVET Conference, the Ministry of Education & UNICEF launched the first of 15 TVET partnerships:
🇪🇬 Egypt 🤝 Tianjin
🇬🇭 Ghana 🤝 Shandong
🇷🇼 Rwanda 🤝 Zhejiang
Strengthening teachers, curricula & workplace learning to equip young people with skills for the future.
Yesterday UNICEF Rep @AmaSande joined the inaugural Tsinghua-Philanthropy Asia Alliance @PAA_Temasek Impact Summit.
She spoke about how AI & climate change are reshaping the future of work for youth & why we must ensure they are part of curating solutions & not left behind.
Thank you @unicefchief.
Your words in Tianjin today captured our ambition perfectly: “Every young person deserves the opportunity of going from learning to earning.”
Excited to turn that vision into action through stronger TVET cooperation.

Watch UNICEF ED @unicefchief Catherine Russell’s message to the World Vocational & Technical Education Development Conference in Tianjin, China.
A new chapter in our partnership with China’s Ministry of Education: expanding from our work for children in China to education cooperation across the Global South.
Tomorrow, we launch our TVET cooperation programme in Africa, starting with Ghana, Egypt & Rwanda.
UNICEF is attending the World Vocational & Technical Education Development Conference in Tianjin.
Through South-South cooperation, we are supporting China to translate its experience and help more young people build future-ready skills in countries like Egypt, Ghana & Rwanda.
We tell children: “Be careful online.” But their safety can’t rest on them alone.
Nearly 1.2M internet-using children in Pakistan faced sexual exploitation or abuse. The risk spans across Southeast Asia.
Children need safer tech, accountability & support.
