On September 20th evening, I talked about the 18 Emmy Awards winner ‘SHOGUN’ and Amaterasu Za’s upcoming Off-Broadway play ‘OKUNI’, and about my new book in Japanese, ‘It’s me, Ako!’ at the Nippon Club NY. The MC was Saori Goda in my ‘CHUSHINGURA -47 Ronin’ and her husband Yoshi Amao is in ’SHOGUN’ episode 8.
Under Mr. Maeda and Mr. Naito’s direction, many NY friends including ‘SHOGUN’’s script supervisor Kazuko Shingyoku, writer Keiko Tsuyama, NY Takarazuka junior Yukiko Yanase, and Mika Saburi came—many thanks to Hiroshi Kono who produced this event. I had a great time!

“Shogun” already has earned awards for costumes, makeup, editing, cinematography and more. Nestor Carbonell won the best guest actor award for his role as the Portuguese merchant Rodrigues in the show’s first episode, “Anjin.”
The Emmys that Shogun already received are:
BREAKING: The villages in Florida, typically dominated by MAGA extremists, have been completely taken over by Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. This is a remarkable turnaround. Retweet so all Americans see this campaign’s energy and enthusiasm.
Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November. https://t.co/Tn2TQu5Djo
