Emmanuel Macron delivered a blunt response to Donald Trump after the U.S. president posted a map showing Saint-Pierre and Miquelon — French territory off the coast of Canada — covered by the American flag.

Macron made it perfectly clear: Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is French, it is proud to be French, and there is absolutely nothing to discuss.

“We’re not going to repeat it every morning because people have strange ideas or say strange things,” Macron said, without even needing to mention Trump by name.

In diplomatic language, that is about as close as you get to: Fuck off. It’s French territory. Get over it.

And the symbolism gets even better. Macron is meeting Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney right there on Saint-Pierre and Miquelon — just a few kilometers off the Canadian coast — as Canada strengthens its relationship with France and the European Union amid worsening tensions with Washington.

The two leaders are discussing closer economic cooperation and energy supplies, including Canadian LNG for Europe as the Middle East conflict drives energy concerns.

Trump puts other countries’ territories under the American flag on social media.

Macron flies there, plants his feet on French soil and reminds him:

The pedophile protector in the Whitehouse blames Ukraine for record-high diesel prices, but the war with Iran is the real culprit, says Bloomberg.

From March to August, the market lost an average of 770,000 barrels of diesel per day from the Middle East, more than double the drop in supplies from Russia, which amounted to 350,000 barrels per day.

Attacks on Russian oil refineries and Moscow's export ban reduced shipments from Russia by 615,000 barrels per day in July and August, but this blow came after global reserves had already been depleted.

Industry experts say that even a complete cessation of attacks on Russian energy infrastructure would not eliminate the record diesel deficit without unblocking the supply of oil products through the Strait of Hormuz.
