💧 From inventing drip irrigation to producing water from air and using AI to optimize farming, Israeli innovation is helping communities do more with less.
This World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, we're spotlighting three technologies helping address one of the world's greatest challenges: desertification and water scarcity 🌱🇮🇱
The Embassy of the State of Israel to Ethiopia and the African Union held a reception celebrating the 78th Independence Day 🇮🇱 of the State of Israel, Yom Haatzmaut.
With guests including Ethiopian Government representatives, the diplomatic community, religious leaders, and civil society, the celebration focused on the the theme "Strengths of Renewal", marking the resilience and hope that drive the nation of Israel.
We also marked the milestone of 70 years of Israel-Ethiopia 🇮🇱🇪🇹 cooperation in the modern era, ever since the first Israeli consulate was opened in Addis Ababa in 1956.
H.E. Dr. Avraham Neguise, Ambassador of Israel in Ethiopia, highlighted the unique nature of the celebration: the seven decades of modern bilateral cooperation, adding on to 3,000 years of shared heritage between the two nations.
H.E. Amha Hailegeorgis, Deputy Director-General for Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Countries Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, praised the close relationship between the two countries on all levels, while emphasizing the strong potential for continued cooperation.
Coinciding with Israel-Ethiopia Culture Week 2026, the event included performances by special guests: Israeli artists Oshi Masala and Nadav Haber, along with Ethiopian pianist Samuel Yirga and singer Meskerem Alemayehu. The musicians provided a taste of their unique collaboration, which incorporates elements from both cultures into a natural sound that brings to life the people-to-people bonds between us.
Students from Andinet International School led in the singing of the Ethiopian national anthem, while Hatikvah ("The Hope"), the national anthem of Israel, was performed by visiting Israeli musician Oshi.
In the wake of the recent high-level visit by H.E. Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, the bilateral Ministry of Foreign Affairs political consultations, and ongoing multi-sector engagements, we thank all those who participated in this event and to all of our countless friends in Ethiopia.
Yom Atzmaut Sameach! 🇮🇱

On June 7, 1967, the Jewish people returned to the heart of their ancient capital. Jerusalem was reunited in a moment of historic joy and liberation.
For 2,000 years, Jews kept Jerusalem alive in their prayers, dreams, and collective memory. Yet for 19 years (1948–1967), the city was divided, and Jews were barred from the Old City and the Western Wall, the holiest site where Jews can pray.
Since that historic day in 1967, Jerusalem has remained open to all faiths, guaranteeing freedom of worship and access to holy sites for everyone.
Jerusalem is the eternal, undivided capital of Israel. 🇮🇱✨

Don’t fall for Hamas’ cheap propaganda.
Hamas is trying once again to recycle its "starvation" campaign to generate international pressure and support, thereby justifying its refusal of President Trump’s plan.
The data, backed by the CMCC mechanism, speaks for itself:
-600 trucks enter the Gaza Strip daily.
- around 35% are operated by the UN and international organizations; the rest by the private sector.
-70% to 80% of the trucks contain food.
Over 1.6 million tons of food have entered Gaza since the beginning of the ceasefire.
Hamas is not fighting for the future of Gaza. It is fighting for its own survival, its weapons, and the continuation of its rule, while exploiting the residents of Gaza for its campaign of lies.
Don't lend a hand to cheap propaganda.
Dont believe Hamas's lies.

This Africa Day, we recall the close historic relations between Israel, which regained independence in 1948, and the countries of Africa, many of which were also newly independent post-colonial states that achieved freedom from foreign rule from the 1950s onwards.
Over the decades, Israel has maintained a strong friendship and a spirit of partnership with African nations, with cooperation focused on agriculture, innovation, education, health, security, and people-to-people relations.
Today, this partnership continues to be strengthened and empowered by modern technologies and additional fields of common interest.
We extend our warmest wishes on Africa Day to the people of Ethiopia and to all Africans across the continent! 🌍🇮🇱🇪🇹

35 years ago, Operation Solomon became one of the most extraordinary humanitarian missions in history.
In just 36 hours, over 14,000 Ethiopian Jews were airlifted from Addis Ababa to Israel — fulfilling a millennia-old dream of returning to Zion and the Land of Israel.
The experience of Ethiopian Jewry is a key piece of the mosaic of Israel and the ingathering of our exiles to their homeland.
Today, we proudly remember this historic moment as part of the story of Israel, a story which continues to embody the hope of generations.
As Jewish communities in Israel and around the world celebrate Shavuot, we commemorate the giving of the Torah to Moses at Mount Sinai, a milestone in which the people of Israel became a unified nation with a common law and system of ethics.
Wishing everyone observing a joyful and peaceful Shavuot!

"Jerusalem is like a city that has been joined together" - Psalms 122:3
Fifty-nine years ago today (Hebrew date), our age-old dreams were realized as our eternal capital of Jerusalem was finally reunited under sovereign Israeli rule.
Jerusalem - Zion - is the beating heart of the people of Israel, the center of our civilization and the root of our identity.
Today, Jerusalem is a thriving city which blends the ancient and the modern, faith and innovation, heritage and diversity.
It is a city which safeguards the holy sites of all religions and serves as a symbol of Israel's everlasting hope for peace.
Happy Jerusalem Day! 🇮🇱

They walked through deserts, famine, and violence with one dream: Jerusalem
Thousands of Ethiopian Jews, known as Beta Israel, never made it to Israel. They died on the journey carrying generations of faith, hope, and longing for Jerusalem.
Today we remember them 🕯️🇮🇱
