DARPA’s N³ program was not about vague futuristic speculation. It was an official U.S. defense research program focused on building a high-performance, bi-directional brain-machine interface.

N³ stands for Next-Generation Nonsurgical Neurotechnology.

According to DARPA’s own program description, the goal was to create a system that could read from and write to 16 independent channels within a 16 mm³ volume of neural tissue within 50 milliseconds. DARPA also said each channel was intended to interact with sub-millimeter regions of the brain with timing and precision approaching more invasive systems.

The goal was not just passive brain monitoring. The program was explicitly framed around two-way communication between brain tissue and machines.

DARPA’s 2018 announcement explained the purpose even more plainly. The agency said N³ was created to pursue a safe, portable neural interface system capable of reading from and writing to multiple points in the brain at once. The program was aimed at future military applications involving human-machine teaming, including potential interaction with unmanned aerial vehicles and active cyber defense systems.

Another important detail...

This was designed for able-bodied service members, not only for medical therapy. That tells you the conversation goes beyond restoring lost function. It also includes expanding direct communication between human brains and digital systems in operational environments.

DARPA also made clear that the program was trying to do this without surgery, which is what made N³ different from older invasive brain-computer interface approaches.

So when people act like two-way brain interfaces are still just sci-fi, they’re ignoring what has already been publicly stated by DARPA.

How far did the program get?

What technologies came out of it?

What follow-on programs are building on that work?

And how should the public think about privacy, autonomy, and consent as these systems keep advancing?

David Icke has been warning about a technologically connected human “hive mind” for years...

Individual minds connected through an electromagnetic and digital network capable of exchanging information with the human nervous system.

Dr. Robert Duncan was also publicly writing about what he called “EEG cyber hive minds” years ago. His own Project Soul Catcher material listed research and simulations involving cybernetic hive-mind work groups, wireless body networks, EEG-controlled systems and neural-network technologies.

Now look at what's actually been demonstrated in mainstream research.

In 2019, researchers published BrainNet, a multi-person brain-to-brain network.

Three people collaborated on a task through a system that read brain activity using EEG, transmitted the information over the Internet, and delivered information into another participant’s brain using transcranial magnetic stimulation.

That's a primitive technological hive mind.

DARPA went further with its N3 program, pursuing high-performance bidirectional brain-machine interfaces capable of reading from and writing to neural tissue.

One DARPA approach specifically paired an external transceiver with electromagnetic nanotransducers delivered to neurons, allowing neural electrical signals to be converted into magnetic signals and back again.

Now consider semiconductor bioelectronics.

Semiconductor-based bioelectronic devices are already being developed for neural interfaces, implantable electronics, biosensing, wireless systems, neuromodulation and AI-enabled closed-loop devices.

A technological hive mind therefore needs several basic components...

A way to interface with the nervous system.

A way to read biological information.

A network capable of transferring that information.

A way to process it.

And potentially a method of writing information back into the nervous system.

Those pieces exist.

Now add the GHOST study.

We scanned 22 people with the EDD-24XT NLJD. Every participant produced second-harmonic-dominant responses classified as “Probability Silicon,” with recurring anatomical organization across the person.

The study reported signal intensity reductions of approximately 79%, Active Signal Spots down approximately 67%, and mean intensity per detection site down approximately 38% after 63 days.

That's why these findings deserve serious investigation.

If semiconductor-type structures are ultimately confirmed at these locations, what are they doing?

Could they function as sensors?

Could they receive or transmit signals?

Could they interface with biological electrical activity?

Could they act as nodes in a Body Area Network?

Could they eventually connect biological information to AI systems or larger wireless networks?

You cannot create a technological hive mind without connecting human beings to something.

The scientific literature already shows multiple ways that connection can be accomplished.

The GHOST study gives us something measurable in humans that now needs to be identified and understood.

David Icke has spent decades telling people to look at where this technological trajectory could lead.

Dr. Robert Duncan wrote explicitly about cybernetic hive minds.

BrainNet demonstrated a multi-person brain network.

DARPA pursued bidirectional neural interfaces and neural nanotransducers.

Semiconductor bioelectronics are advancing rapidly.

The application describes a wireless Body Area Network capable of collecting medical information from sensors associated with a person and transmitting that data to another device.

The patent lists Body Sensor Units that can include EEG monitoring, hearing monitoring, vision monitoring, ECG, blood-pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring, toxin monitoring and implant modules. It also describes internal and external sensors communicating through technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Near Field Communication.

What deserves closer examination is how closely some of the anatomical locations discussed in Body Area Network and bioelectronic research overlap with locations repeatedly documented during NLJD scanning.

The recently published GHOST study used the EDD-24XT nonlinear junction detector on 22 participants. Second-harmonic-dominant responses were detected in all 22 at baseline, and the locations were not randomly distributed across the body.

Repeated locations included the bilateral TMJ, glabella, nasal dorsum, cervical regions, shoulders, occipital region, scapular regions, spinal axis, hips, thighs and other defined anatomical areas. The researchers described a recurrent spatial pattern across participants.

A patented Body Area Network can involve EEG sensors, hearing systems, implant modules and wireless transmission of biological data.

A published human study has now documented recurrent semiconductor-type NLJD responses in specific anatomical regions across multiple participants.

The next step is direct chemical and structural characterization of those locations.

What is producing the second-harmonic responses?

Why do similar anatomical locations repeatedly appear across different people?

Could any of these detections involve engineered semiconductor or bioelectronic structures?

What happens when wireless medical technology moves beyond external wearables and deeper into the human body?

And where should informed consent end and biological privacy begin?
