President Trump hypes up the massive, high-speed racing event set to take over the nation's capital on August 22nd and 23rd, promising a historic spectacle down Pennsylvania Avenue to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

The event will feature cars reaching speeds of over 190 mph racing around the National Mall.

"It's going to be a sight for the ages. It really will be something special. And they're going to go all around the National Mall at speeds that are not quite- if we did that during the regular day, I think people would be put in jail, perhaps for the rest of their lives."

BREAKING: Anti-ICE protesters swarmed outside Senator Susan Collins' Maine office after a deadly shooting involving an ICE agent in Biddeford.

Witnesses told local media that ICE agents surrounded a vehicle and repeatedly ordered the driver to get out. Seconds later, they heard gunshots, which were also captured on surveillance video.

FIRST ON FOX: Apple and Google are facing new accusations of burying a major political story.

A new Media Research Center study obtained by Fox News Digital claims Apple News and Google News promoted zero stories for months about the controversies surrounding then-Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, including reports about his Nazi tattoo and resurfaced offensive Reddit posts.

The study says that changed only after The New York Times reported on Platner's sexting controversy, bringing the story into the national spotlight.

Google is firmly pushing back against the study, saying "these claims are totally false and based on a completely flawed methodology."

Apple has not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has scheduled a 4 p.m. press conference to announce an appointment to fill Senator Lindsey Graham's now-vacant Senate seat.

President Trump recommending McMaster appoint Graham's sister, Darline, to serve as interim senator.

While in his early 20s, Senator Graham stepped in to raise his younger sister after they lost their mother to cancer in 1976 and then their father to a heart attack in the following year.

Fox is told that McMaster’s appointment to Graham’s seat will be a caretaker and not someone who will run for the full-term, making Graham's sister a real possibility.

Graham passed away at 71 over the weekend after "brief and sudden illness," his office announced.

BREAKING: President Trump says the Strait of Hormuz will remain open as the U.S. takes over security of the critical shipping lane.

He announced what he called the reinstatement of the "Iranian Blockade," saying only Iranian ships and their customers will be targeted while all other nations are free to transit the strait.

Trump says the U.S. will serve as the "Guardian of the Hormuz Strait" and is seeking reimbursement equal to 20% of all cargo shipped through the waterway to help cover the cost of providing security.

He says the plan takes effect immediately.

Eyewitness video shows flames pouring out the entrance of a packed Bangkok pub as people scramble to escape the deadly fire.

Officials say at least 27 people have been killed and dozens more are injured, including 22 in critical condition, after the fire broke out just before midnight Sunday and quickly filled the venue with smoke.

Survivors say many people panicked and ran toward the back of the pub near the bathrooms because there were no fire exits inside the venue.
