And we're at the end of our journey for another year. Today we read The Joining of the Signs. "And in a great blaze of yellow-white light, the sun rose over Hunter's Combe and the valley of the Thames." #tdir#tdirreadathon
Today, after the long pause, we read The King of Fire and Water and The Hunt Rides. "Through the rush of the wind he thought... ...that he could hear a strange, high yelping in the wind, like the sound of migrating geese flying high." #tdir#tdirreadthon
If you've not yet read Part Three: The Testing, The Coming of the Cold and The Hawk in the Dark, now's a good day to do it, before any celebrations later. #tdir#tdirreadathon
It's the big gap now that we've finished Part Two with the beginning of Part Three: The Testing, The Coming of the Cold and The Hawk in the Dark occurring some time between now and early Jan. #tdir#tdirreadathon
Happy Christmas! See if you can fit in just the one chapter today, Christmas Day. "Will was instantly a furious Old One, so furious that he did not pause to think what he should do." #tdir#tdirreadathon
Lots to read today in Part Two: The Learning - Christmas Eve, The Book of Gramarye and Betrayal. "When you have the knowledge, Will Stanton, there will no longer be any need of storing it, for with you the circle is complete." #tdir#tdirreadathon
Today we encounter (and read the chapter) The Walker on the Way. "The last of the Old Ones has come, Walker, and it is time. The moment for giving the Sign is now, now or never." #tdir#tdirreadathon
Happy Midwinter's Day! Today we read Midwinter's Day and The Sign Seeker. "Nothing is what it seems, boy. Expect nothing and fear nothing, here or anywhere." #tdir#tdirreadathon
The annual re-read starts today! We start, as is traditional, with Part One: The Finding and Midwinter's Eve. Please check on all of your livestock and beware of the rooks. Tomorrow will be beyond imagining. #tdir#tdirreadathon
@RobGMacfarlane Probably the Owl Service but also reading Boneland as an adult, decades after reading the first two as a child and having it play with memory and reality both in the book and then weirdly in real life is one of the most profound reading experiences I've had.
@amberprophet@LyonMerriman2 Spent some time meandering down the Long Walk in Windsor Great Park yesterday and it occurred to me has anyone tried to work out where in the Great Park the climax of TDiR takes place. I've always pictured the LW. But it might because 1/
@KingCrawa@LyonMerriman2 I haven't. Or well I have it pictured in my head but not in a way that maps to the actual park. I'll retweet to see if anyone else has thought about it.
Went both nights to see the Pippin 50th anniversary concert and loved it! Brought back some excellent memories of going multiple times to see @PippinLDN and what a fabulous production that was. Maybe we could bring it back? #magictodo
@BradJudge@PippinLDN@swkplay After seeing the Pippin 50th anniversary concert this week, I was reminded of these videos (this one in particular) and needed to trail back several years of tweets to find them. God these are great!
