#amquerying my 98k adult fantasy | currently writing about lava witches and girls who burn down libraries for fun

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

In preparation for #pitmad, here is Viskaria. She makes the occasional golem, reanimates a few corpses, flirts awkwardly, times her jokes poorly, and is equal parts vengeance and remorse.

When your card declines at therapy so they just drop you in a competition where you have to k!ll your four powerful older brothers to try and win the throne

2 Truths & a manifestation:
An agent will fall in love with my adult fantasy
I'm starting graduate school in the summer
I'm drafting an Othello retelling with dragons

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

@ESPNPlusHelp @C4ME20N Do you have an ETA you can share?

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

I’m taking a hiatus from writing and querying so I can best prepare my body and my mental well-being for IVF in the summer.
I’ve met lots of incredible people online, and I’m looking forward to cheering you all on as you keep querying and keep writing.

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

@i_huffman91 Lots of other medical conditions, but my booster seems to be staying strong! Covid free so far. Husband too, and we’re both teachers in a largely unvaxxed area.

How many WIPs is too many WIPs? Asking for a friend.

After a few additional late nights revising, the 10th draft of A SUNDERED CAGE has been submitted to Author Mentor Match, so I officially #AMMWaiting!

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

I've been going back and forth on submitting to #AMM, so I've decided I'm going to handle it the same way I handle ordering dinner through a drive-thru. Therefore, I'm just going to wait until the very last second to make a decision and let myself be surprised.

A book my friends keep lovingly referring to as “Shrek 4 meets Moana”

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

@kennington_alex I also started my morning with coffee and a rejection 😂

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

@kennington_alex I absolutely blame you because the email was confirming my order of Bone Crier's Dawn, hahaha.

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

My toxic trait is seeing a new email, getting super excited it's a query response, and then remembering that I JUST ordered something off Amazon thirty seconds ago, and it's a confirmation.

@Merethebookgal @HaddawayanWrite “Scarlet and amber strands of magma twisted across the witch’s body.”

Consider reviewing your writing for ableist language. The Disability Language Style Guide from the National Center on Disability and Journalism is a great place to start. You can download the style guide as a PDF or reference it online. Check it out here: https://t.co/eVu4zdCeO1

I know everyone is going to say it, but I’m really blown away by all the support my pitch received yesterday! I love my angry girls so much, and I’m glad some of you did too.

[Amber Erin @amberreadsstuff]

@nyx_nulla I never intended to make them villains originally, but that is absolutely what they needed. Now, 9+ rounds of revisions later, I can’t picture them any differently!

BLOODLEAF X SORCERY OF THORNS
When Vix’s sentient magic reanimates a graveyard, she expects death - not a job with the king. Vix hopes she can do some good, but she’ll need to become the villain to save her sister. That is, if her sister doesn’t beat her to it.

GONE GIRL X INCEPTION
Dating a witch is magical, but breaking up with one? Criminal. After Ever’s ex frames her for murder and gets her imprisoned in a dream, she is given a choice: hunt down the love of her life or never wake up again #pitmad #BVM #YA #LGBT #F #MR #R
