What I came to understand after leaving MAGA was: the GOP always pretends that they are unaware of MAGA influencers such as Fuentes, who has a larger following than, and is more influential than, most Republican politicians.

And fans of Fuentes should know that he is, first and foremost, a performer who likely believes little of what he markets.

Here's my review for the MeidasTouch film "The Last Republican," about my friend, and former Congressman, Adam Kinzinger. (Disclaimer: I am a contributor to @MeidasTouch.) @AdamKinzinger

The conflict between principles and ambition is nothing new, and are as pronounced in politics as in any other industry.

"Republican" raises the question of why it's so hard---and why such a great price must be paid---to be honest.

The film also underscores the extremist aspect of MAGA; namely, how some view opposition to the MAGA movement not as wrong and misguided, but anti-American and traitorous. This is where elected officials such as Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell---the whole of the GOP, really---bear the brunt of responsibility. No one, including their family, should ever be subjected to threats of violence and death.

Though ostracized by even his own family and fellow veterans, Adam wouldn't do anything different. Principles won out over ambition, and our country is all the more better off.
