your 20s are also losing friends, facing failure, watching your parents get older, worrying about being alone forever, seeing your body change, quitting terrible jobs, rediscovering childhood hobbies, learning how to say no, moving back home, the identity crisis that comes out of nowhere, questioning true happiness, losing yourself and then finding your way back
i think i forced myself to become a distant person because i’m tired of getting my feelings hurt, no attachments no room for disappointments and i hate that i’m like that
Even in close friendships, learn to mind your own business. If they’re not sharing something with you, it’s likely because they don’t want you to know or they’re just not ready yet. You’re not entitled to know everything happening in their life at all times.
Today i realized i’m the problem. I allow people to do me any kinda of way, and I just love them anyway. I tend to choose people who aren't willing to choose me. And hold onto people I should let go of. But l am a pourer. I try to pour life, and positivity and energy into everyone around me without having the proper people in my life to pour it back. That stops today, I gotta love me more than I love them.
PAY ATTENTION, check on y'all boyfriends and girlfriends! If somebody sleeping all day, distancing they self, you notice a lack in interest in everything, they barely eating, they barely sleeping, they got that “it is what it is” mindset all the time, it's something wrong!
I like men with MORE than me. & when I say more, I mean more discipline, emotional intelligence, consistency, knowledge, stability, self-control, vision, wisdom, more direction.. money is cool, but character is MANDATORY. A man who can elevate my mind, not just my lifestyle is elite. If you can’t lead yourself, you can’t lead me ! 🫰🏽
PLEASE romanticize your life, take pretty pictures, feel like the main character, light up a candle, read books, go for a walk, dance to your favorite music, buy yourself presents, do whatever you want, be happy. this is your life, don’t let anyone take it from you
I can go days without talking to people, and it’s never personal. I just be chilling. I can wake up every day, not exchange a word with anyone, and be completely fine. I really live in my own world.
I had a friend who used to call me at 4am crying about her boyfriend. I’d wake up, listen, let her vent, and then go back to sleep, more than once. One night I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d return the favor and called her at 4am. She answered and told me she was sleeping, & I should call back tomorrow. Moral of the story: always remember that energy you give isn’t always going to be reciprocated—set your boundaries, even with “friends.”
