@HughFleming9 It’s good to hear that he still has a good attitude and is keeping things lighthearted. I wouldn’t be surprised if sportings events don’t have fans attend for the next few months to a year.
Italy's minister for sport announced that the Serie A season should be cancelled. He knows how important football is in Italy, but with the uncertainty of the future for COVID 19, he thinks this would be the safest decision #JRNL3804 https://t.co/zRoAZydAKP
@maddyjo53031619 This is a very tough time for everyone. I think focusing on education is a good plan and will be very beneficial for future generations.
The first AIBA Continental Boxing Forum was scheduled to take place in Panama. This would help grow the future of sports, athletes, and AIBA. #JRNL3804 https://t.co/ugI03H0oWE
@JoshMartelon It was interesting to see the history of sports from a different country’s perspective. I also thought it was noteworthy that the goal of chinlone is to play the game beautifully, not to win.
Refugees in Ottawa are playing chinlone, which is Myanmar’s national sport. The players say it is a fun way to make friends and forget about their stress.

@sconi704 This is super interesting to see how people are getting creative because of the current times. I wonder how the scoring will work or if it will impact how the sport works since it is online. I’m not sure if the online platform could really work for other sports
@HughFleming9 I still feel like April 2nd could be too soon to resume games because the US pushed the social distancing date back to April 30th.
Also, the part about the loophole of using private airports is interesting. I wonder what other people have been allowed to use those.
In early December, The General Administration of Sport of China planned to launch a government-backed sport industry investment fund to boost sport-related business and brands. I wonder where this stands now after the spread of the coronavirus. #JRNL3804 https://t.co/Gq0TPYdgl0
@HughFleming9 This is a feel-good story. Not only because he Boac Juniors were so successful, but because Coach Russo made a full recovery from cancer.
Argentina called up 6 Italy-based players for the World Cup qualifiers, despite the country's lockdown and the travel restrictions. Lionel Messi was also included in the squad. #JRNL3804 https://t.co/W6YzMyxDkX
@sconi704 I wonder if the game will be cancelled, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is. I doubt people will be refunded. Especially if people were traveling from the U.S., they probably won’t be able to go either, after the travel announcement last night.
In Montmelo, Spain, Sergio Perez set the fastest time for the F1 testing before the season began. The Barcelona-Catalunya track will most the Spanish GP on 5/10 (if it doesn't get cancelled). #JRNL3804 https://t.co/5KspUVmbCH
@HughFleming9 It is weird to think of an important sporting event like this to not have any fans in attendance. I would imagine that fans bring up the energy and are crucial to the wrestlers’ performance.
Not only is the Coronavirus a threat the 2020 Japan Olympics, but there is also a concern about the ongoing nuclear crisis in Fukushima. It is important to keep the environment in mind, especially since the third Olympic pillar is sustainability

@PerlmanBrooke Her speech was incredible and it brought me to tears. I can’t imagine what she has been going through for the past few weeks. It is reassuring to know that she has the support of all of Kobe’s dear friends through this hard time.
This article shows how politics and sport can be intertwined. Members of the “Miracle on Ice” 1980 Olympic hockey team went on stage during a rally for President Donald Trump & wore hats with his slogan. This created some backlash. #JRNL3804 https://t.co/5FKEHZMlEq
@sconi704 I’m curious to see how this case will go. It is especially interesting to our class, given that we read the CAS rules/regulations during the first week, so I wonder which of those they will apply in this case.
Basketball is becoming a very international sport. With this opportunity to begin a basketball league in Namibia, it could allow for many young basketball players to find a love for the game and improve their skills. https://t.co/I2GxWrmKxk #JRNL3804
@MikeyWillis255 I saw a hurling match in Ireland this summer! The energy in the stadium was crazy and the game was very fun to watch. I had never seen fans as invested/excited about their teams in any sport before. It would be awesome to see hurling begin to be more popular in the U.S.
