Good morning to everyone except people who immediately ask “well do they have pre-existing medical conditions” when we talk about kids who become severely ill or die from #COVID19. I don’t know who hurt you, but children with medical conditions deserve to live too
the wild thing about the ED is that you can literally pull a pulseless and apneic patient out of a car in full view of the ED waiting room and and someone will be up at triage desk 5 min later bitching about the wait for their toe pain
If I get #breastcancer a 3rd time and die because of it, I will come back and haunt anyone who said I “lost my battle”. People don’t lose the fight against pneumonia, heart attacks or old age. Why do we use it for cancer? When it can’t be cured, no-one can win. It’s NOT A BATTLE.
Actually one of the things that has burned me out the most recently is having to enforce visitor policies. I feel like I am always the bad nurse no matter what.
I actually hate confrontation and having to enforce rules like this, especially when "the Dr said I could stay"
Tips for docs, when you see a nurse working alone, currently juggling 2 phones ringing, answering a patient query and trying to make up some ivabs, please dont ask that nurse to height a child and kindly do it yourself 😊
