@ProfCTurner@WilsoJS @NtuTilt [3/3] remote cohort, enabled all to benefit from live demonstrations and problem-solving. Ability to give control of mouse/keyboard to remote classroom provides another means of participation for off-site students. Having a counterpart present also very useful.
@ProfCTurner@WilsoJS @NtuTilt [2/3] whilst Padlet provided a platform for feedback - particularly useful for those unwilling to vocalise their thoughts. This enabled me to respond to requests and adapt lessons week-on-week. Screen sharing from Microsoft Surface to projector, and simultaneously via Skype to
@ProfCTurner I dare say many of us in academia, and indeed numerous other sectors, are experiencing similar issues. I wonder how responses would vary if colleagues from our department were asked anonymously. It would make for an interesting @Mentimeter poll at the next school meeting alright!
@Tesco@ryangadams I tried to do just this, but was told they cannot accept them. Many of the bags I receive contain a single item, so they soon add up. It would be useful to have some sort of recycling scheme put in place to avoid these going to landfill, which I imagine many will!
Thrilled to hear about David's award from @TheIET! It was a pleasure to work alongside him and supervise his Masters dissertation project on detecting strabismus in children. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he would undoubtedly be an asset to any employer! @IETawards
"I am delighted to have won the IET Manufacturing Prize - it's a fantastic foundation for employability as I enter the world of engineering". Super recognition for a super student! David O'Hale,1st Class Hons in Engineering Management graduate 2020.

@lukemcneice These are typically electrical engineering students with an introductory knowledge of Python and C++. I had a couple of projects integrating simple facial, object and fall detection this year that went quite well. Outcomes are broad given wide range of project titles available.
@lukemcneice Random thought... Do you reckon facial projection mapping could be used to fool traditional facial recognition techniques? If so, do you think a CG face with continuously morphing features be used to brute force given sufficient time?
@ProfCTurner@mjennings061@SkyUK I've no real issue with it, as long as it's not being used to perhaps deceive customers. I tend to think of a technician as someone with more practical knowledge, whilst an engineer has the theoretical background. I know which I'd trust to fix my boiler! Both equally important.
@lukemcneice I'm trying to come up with a few students projects, so would likely be using something simple like a Haar cascade, which I'd imagine would be relatively easy to fool. The LiDAR cam looks great! Be sure to post some results if possible.
@lukemcneice Very interesting, and thank you for the detailed response. I knew you'd be the person to ask! I suppose what I had in mind was something close to the iPhone example, utilising an image of a known authorised user.
@mjennings061@ProfCTurner@SkyUK That's no mistake... Everyone is an engineer! 🙃 Plumber? Heating engineer. Mechanic? Automotive engineer. Health & safety? Compliance engineer. Project manager? Project engineer. Cleaner? Sanitation engineer. You get the idea. Regulated in some countries, overused elsewhere.

@drorfh Well said, PHA is way off the mark. Humans have used psychoactive compounds for 1000s of years.
Provide harm reduction education and explain potential long-term consequences such as B12 deficiency and subsequent peripheral neuropathy > lower limb paralysis and incontinence.
Best of luck today to Team T E Gills - the 1st of 2 @UUEngineering U/G teams pitching in the @ewbuk 2020 Design Challenge Grand Finals. Find out more about their design & support them in the People's Prize (Energy).

@marcus_baw @bioinfomatt@flatustube@invadingpirate @NHSX And so they should be embarrassed! I can imagine you were furious alright, it seems senseless to quash such an obviously beneficial project. Hopefully you and the rest of the team have been able to channel your collective passion into another worthwhile endeavour.
