"Come on, Jose, come on!” There’s no doubt about it. Charging down the stretch Golden Tempo knew exactly whose voice cut through the roar of 150,000 people. Golden Tempo’s trainer Cherie DeVaux, the first woman trainer to win the Derby in its 152 Yr history. Odds 23-1 Pure joy 🐎
Unpopular Opinion:
Mark Pope is receiving an unfair level of criticism & a majority of Kentucky’s issues have nothing to do with Pope.
In year 1 his entire backcourt dealt with injuries. Despite that he still beat 8 top-15 teams & made the Sweet 16.
In Year 2 he lost his starting center & starting point guard to season ending injuries. Still, Pope went 7-3 in games decided by 2 possessions or fewer & beat 5 top-25 teams.
The only fair criticism should be his inability to land premier players in the portal this offseason. However, there is a different standard & expectation at Kentucky that Pope has yet to meet. I still would give him 2 more years & if he falls short of a Final Four then it’s fair to move on.

Who dey! 💪🏼
There's a lot of talk about the toxicity in the Kentucky fanbase today. FWIW, I think that exists everywhere, but BBN has a big online presence, so it's just louder, especially when UK is losing.
My one contribution to the discussion: I think the pandemic had a huge impact on mental health. People have a harder time separating social media from reality now. I think that's especially true for players, who were at a formative age when the shutdown happened. Seeing what is said on an app by an anonymous fan can overshadow real-life interactions. That's the sad state of life right now. Don't get me started on how negativity is being actively promoted by some algorithms.
tl;dr -- Winning helps everything. And don't be a butt online.
