Despite my desire to remain,today is my last day as PGY1 RPD. 112 residents made this a career highlight! 46% (& rising) w/ a research pub, 75% w/ at least 1 pub;3 successful surveys,1 new PGY1 program;new ideas & directions annually to lead our profession. TY for a great 12+yrs

Short term due to c/f toxicity. Long term HA plenty of good po options too since Ha persists well after admission

AJHP 2018. lower gauge catheter is preferred (16-20g). Consider rotating infusion site every 96 hours as applicable. up to 75-100ml/hr 3% NaCl.

@neurocritical Important point in the NCS guidelines--targeting high sodium levels has not been proven effective; though safety may in question. Best way to avoid hypernatremia is often not to aim for it #ncstjc

@neurocritical If #HTS or #Mannitol not readily available can open up the code cart for NaBicarb vial/syringe.

1mL/kg of 8.4% NaBicarb is equi-osmolar to 30mL of 23.4% HTS. #NCSTJC

@neurocritical No recommendations does not necessarily mean no effect. The guideline group just didn't ask the question. Many mannitol studies included heterogeneous population,may have included aSAH patients.Agree w/ @karenccrx, don't prefer mannitol in situations where diuresis is problematic
