Orientation is the most important part when working with coding agents. If we can set up a north star for the agents to work towards we can then grant them the freedom and agency to work intelligently.

Is it just me or is hacking in the age of agents similar to the movie Inception?
Agents love filling empty blanks and calling apis. Create an empty social, agents will fill it full of ai slop. Create a parameter that asks for a security key, the agent will fill it in.
Why does it feel like we are all in a ralph loop that some software engineer left running accidentally and they're about to come back and ctrl-c ctrl-c at any moment? @GeoffreyHuntley https://t.co/baDoNByDyZ
@itseieio@MakeVenice@hmmmvids As a DM I'm always looking for cool monsters to use. In the chess game if you are trying to build a wall and queens start shooting all over the place in a super powered bot attack it's sort of scary. Would be pretty fun to stand against those monsters... or build them.
@itseieio@MakeVenice@hmmmvids I think "normies" sort of miss out on the fun of bots it would be interesting if there was a way to pit botters against humans in a way that somehow leveled the playing field... Or opened up the world of botting to normies in some way. Not sure how.
@itseieio@MakeVenice@hmmmvids My friend and I were talking about the emergent bot behavior in your projects today and were wondering if there is potential for a game that sort of embraces that and gives non-devs a chance to dip their toe into that space somehow... Also humans vs bots could be interesting...
@itseieio@MakeVenice@hmmmvids For sure! Excited for what you build next! Obviously don't expect you to keep running with this one if the experiment has run it's course. The coolest stuff about your all of your recent projects, for me, has been the emergent behavior (like the defensive structures).
@itseieio@chercher_ai I did figure out how to do the direct socket type bots but that felt too much like cheating, what I landed on was a click bot that mostly allows for keyboard control and patterns (and a hunter-killer mode) but it's all based on automating clicks so pretty rate limited.
@hmmmvids@itseieio@MakeVenice It does make me think of the game Stratego and how only 8s can mine bombs. Maybe making it so only knights can attack across boards is a good balance (since they jump it kind of makes sense)
@itseieio@MakeVenice I definitely miss being able to create some sort of defensive structures, I thought that was a really cool element of the game and led to lots of cool interactions trying to protect hero pieces / kings. Now it's entirely about attacking...
@itseieio Mostly the main thing I like is a have a script that lets me control a rook like the game snake with the keyboard... Which I find pretty satisfying and less carpel tunnel inducing than clicking. But obviously don't want to do anything if you are actively trying to lock it down.
