Sleep paralysis is a temporary condition in which a person becomes conscious during the transition between sleep and wakefulness but is unable to move or speak for a short period. It may be accompanied by a sensation of pressure on the chest, difficulty breathing, or vivid hallucinations. Modern medicine explains it as a disruption in the normal sleep cycle, particularly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, when the body's muscles remain temporarily relaxed even as the mind becomes awake.
From an Islamic perspective, there is no authentic text in the Qur'ān or the Sunnah stating that sleep paralysis is always caused by jinn or demonic activity. Therefore, it is incorrect to attribute every episode of sleep paralysis to a spiritual attack. Such a conclusion goes beyond what the revealed texts establish and may create unnecessary fear and anxiety.
At the same time, Islam acknowledges the existence of jinn and the possibility of satanic whispers or disturbing dreams. If sleep paralysis is accompanied by other credible signs of spiritual affliction, a person may seek spiritual protection through the prescribed means without assuming that the paralysis itself is proof of jinn possession or attack.
The Prophet (ṣallāLlāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) taught Muslims to seek Allah's protection before sleeping by performing wuḍū', reciting Āyat al-Kursī, Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ, Sūrat al-Falaq, and Sūrat al-Nās, and making the authentic supplications before sleep. These acts provide spiritual comfort and protection and should be part of a believer's nightly routine regardless of whether they experience sleep paralysis.
Individuals who experience recurrent or distressing episodes of sleep paralysis should also consider medical evaluation, especially if the condition affects their sleep quality, mental well-being, or daily functioning. Islam encourages seeking treatment for illnesses while placing one's trust in Allah. The balanced Islamic approach is to benefit from both spiritual guidance and medical knowledge, recognizing that they complement rather than contradict one another.
Nutshell, sleep paralysis is generally understood as a medical condition, not a definitive sign of jinn activity. Muslims should avoid hastily spiritualizing every unexplained experience while remaining committed to the authentic Islamic practices of remembrance of Allah, supplication, and reliance upon Him.

3. Woman whose husband is absent (due to imprisonment, abandonment, or long-term travel) & she is left to raise the children alone.
4. Unmarried woman who has birthed outside marriage.
Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks.
The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made.
I salute every officer and operative whose courage, discipline, and professionalism made this possible.
To those who seek to spread fear through terror, know that the Nigerian state will pursue you relentlessly. We will protect our people, defend our communities, and never relent until peace and security prevail across our country.

We live in a time where environmental information is everywhere. People know more about climate change, pollution, waste, and sustainability than ever before; yet harmful systems and behaviors continue almost unchanged.
So the real question is no longer whether awareness exists. It is whether awareness without action has become a comfort zone.
At what point do conversations, reposts, and public concern stop being signs of progress and start becoming substitutes for responsibility?

@eet_foundation The trick is not to stop seeking awareness, but to accept that action is always partial, imperfect, and uncomfortable. Don't let the perfect, complete, and painless understanding of a problem be the enemy of the messy, flawed, and courageous act of trying.
@eet_foundation Awareness becomes an excuse for inaction the moment it is used to justify the status quo of your own behavior. An excuse is a reason why you cannot or do not have to act. A reason to act is a plan for how you will act, even if imperfectly.
The Nigerian military's blitzkrieg in recent months, led largely by the NAF, is forcing many fighters to abandon their strongholds and move southward. The NAF needs to expand its operational footprint in the Southwest.
The Defence HQ has revealed that the recent kidnapping in Oyo State were carried out by terrorists of the JAS Group that have been dislodged from other parts of the country due to high intensity operations being conducted.
Dislodged JAS fighters have been gradually expanding their reach beyond the northeast, infiltrating forest corridors in North West and North Central. Now, they are carrying out kidnappings in Oyo State. This movement of fleeing terrorists into the Southwest is a clear and present threat. We cannot allow them to gain a foothold in the Southwest.
Environmental challenges don’t persist by accident.
In many cases, there are systems, interests, and structures that allow them to continue.
Understanding who benefits is often the first step to understanding why change is slow.
What’s your perspective?

@eet_foundation The real cost is paid by communities through poor health, flooding, food insecurity, unsafe water, displacement, and loss of livelihoods. Ultimately, unresolved environmental problems benefit the few while harming society.
@eet_foundation Some political actors may also benefit by delaying regulation to satisfy powerful interests. Businesses built around crisis response, cleanup contracts, and emergency relief may gain from repeated environmental failures. However, these benefits are short-term and unfair.
Awareness is often measured by visibility; posts, campaigns, conversations. But real progress is reflected in behavior, systems, and long-term change.
As environmental conversations grow louder, it’s worth reflecting on what is truly shifting beneath the surface.
We’d like to hear your thoughts.

@eet_foundation In many cases, we are both becoming more aware and becoming better at appearing aware. The real measure of progress is not how often we post about the environment, but how consistently we change our habits, policies, and systems to protect it.
@eet_foundation Environmental awareness is increasing, but much of it is still superficial. More people are talking about environmental issues than before, which is a positive sign, but online visibility does not always translate into real understanding or action.
