Serious safety concern at Platform No. 5, Villupuram Junction. The platform flooring is severely damaged with large broken granite slabs and exposed gaps, creating a major tripping hazard for passengers, especially senior citizens, children, and people carrying luggage. 🚦 Urgent Road Safety Concern ⚠️
At the junction of Varadarajulu St & Raja Annamalai Rd, Chennai, vehicles from Varadarajulu St cannot easily access the opposite side due to the current traffic signal arrangement 🚗🚥, causing delays and unsafe traffic movements.
🏫 A nursery & primary school is located on Varadarajulu St, with many young children using this junction during school hours 🚸👧👦.
🛑 I discussed this issue with the traffic police officer on duty today (around 8:45 AM) and raised my concerns.
🚨 I request: ✅ A traffic inspection during school hours. ✅ Review of the signal timing/road crossing arrangement 🚦. ✅ Additional traffic police deployment 👮‍♂️ during school opening and closing hours.
I have frequently noticed motorists jumping red signals 🚗💨🔴, creating a serious risk for vehicles entering Varadarajulu St and for school children crossing the road 🚸.
🙏 Kindly take immediate action to improve road safety.
