There is currently no evidence that a significant embankment slip happened before the derailment - but there is evidence that some movement had previously occurred.

Crucially, CCTV from this train and other trains shows a track geometry irregularity existed immediately before the derailment. The RAIB has also received reports from passengers of rough riding at that location before the accident.

A 26 year old man, a white British national, was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of murder. He was arrested in the force area, in Newton Abbott. They remain open minded about whether he was known to Ann and there's no suggestion at this time it was politically motivated.

What we know:
- Emergency services were called to Widdecombe’s home at Haytor at around 11.40am on Thursday 9th July.
- She was found dead inside the property.
- Police say she had sustained serious injuries.
- Police are looking for a white male.
