A week on from winning Sheffield’s UC student of the year award, and I’m still just as shocked, overwhelmed, proud, and buzzing.
Big thank you to the BBC Derby Sport team for all their hard work, support, and opportunities to allow me to chase my dreams.
Just the beginning! 🥳
@thederbydigest@Kingoflochs@PaulTopleydpt We were predicted to finish mid table last season, and we exceeded those expectations. The point is we started badly and turned it around, so those that are losing their heads after two games just need to calm down and have some perspective. Results and performances will improve.
Already touched on similar points earlier with a post on here, but latest article is out now on the @BBCSport website. Sharing a little bit of perspective on our underwhelming start comparatively to last season, and why patience is key. 🐏 #dcfc#dcfcfans

@MuespachRam We won one game in our first 10 last season, and shipped eight goals in our first two games. The same headlosses happened then, we were “relegation fodder” etc… but we improved significantly. I agree, it’s not great right now, but I also don’t believe it will stay like this.
If you’d asked any Derby fan if they’d be happy to be on the same points as Burnley and West Ham after the first two games, the answer would’ve been yes. Exactly why patience is key until mid October. Everyone’s still adapting, and we’re still building our squad. Faith, keep it.
@MuespachRam I’m saying two teams who have been tipped for promotion have also had poor starts. Poor starts don’t equal poor seasons, we’re still building our squad. The league will start taking shape in another 6-8 weeks time, then we’ll be able to get a proper idea of where we’re at.
@_Bish___ In short I think the league will start to take shape more by that point, and you’ll get a grasp of which teams are going to be in and around the top 8, who will be mid table, and who may struggle.
@_Bish___ 6 weeks after the transfer window closes, so any new signings we have made have had plenty of time to bed in, and we should have a pretty consistent starting 11 aside from long term injuries like Agyemang and Murkin. Squad is still being built, and any newcomers will need time.
Georgia Stanway on the WSL becoming so attractive, playing in front of the Arsenal fans for the first time, and her aims for the season.
Loved being in the Meadow Park press box for the first time yesterday, excited to continue working alongside the @GoonerFanzine team. #AWFC

A generally solid display from all involved yesterday, however there were a couple of players who really stood out. Follow the link to see who I thought performed particularly well. 🔴⚪️ #AWFC
@LucyBronzevyou She was in attendance with several other players who are out injured/didn’t make the matchday squad. It was announced by the club when the team news was released that she has suffered “a minor knock.” Hopefully she is fit enough to return on Wednesday. 👍
FOUR new signings start this afternoon for Arsenal Women.
Misa, Stanway, Baum and Cerci all feature from the start.
Wubben-Moy partners Williamson at centre back.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Amelia Warren to our @GoonerFanzine reporting team covering @ArsenalWFC this season. Why not follow the brilliant @ameliamw03 for all her coverage from the AWFC press box and much more throughout 2026-27
First press box shift for the @GoonerFanzine this afternoon, as Arsenal Women take on Paris FC in a pre season friendly at Meadow Park. Buzzing to be here in what is another really surreal moment for me personally. 🔴⚪️ #AWFC#Arsenal#ArsenalWomen
@JakeBarker1212 Similar reasoning for salvaging us a point, but I’d say Zetterstrom made 2-3 VERY good saves that kept us in the game. Would be fair to give him a shout for man of the match imo.
New article out now on the @BBCSport website, focusing on some positive signs despite defeat at The Valley. Good foundations squad wise just need a couple more through the door, and some to return from injury, before we can make fair judgement.🐏 #dcfcfans

This feels exciting.
The best shot conversion rate in the Bundesliga 2 last season, the versatility to be comfortable in multiple positions across the front line, height that will make him an unpredictable handful for defences, coming into his prime at 26, on a free transfer. 🐏
