Part of subscribing to American culture is believing that things will get better in the future, but only if we strive for these improvements in the present. I believe that the best way to express this belief is to build companies that can set large ambitions, and attract capital and talent to flow in their direction to achieve these civilizational aims.
@lymanstoneky Is it that these women have the time capacity of most ladder climbing men, thus why they end up with higher earnings? At a certain point, career progression is the right mix of skills + avail when next promo is open, so if you aren't taking leave, the probability is higher?
The apparent conclusion—uncomfortable if not unthinkable for free marketeers—is that MBA/finance thinking and decision-making is not just not helpful but actively hostile and destructive to running a successful, functional company.
@brian_a_burns Consider different viewpoint: The best VC’s are constantly learning, so newer/yet to be proven VC’s are attempting to do the same to have prepared minds to source and win. Sounds like they need coaching/mentorship on going deeper vs throwing their hands up and not getting smarter
@nic_detommaso Make the time to review all your emails (cold emails and warm intros), Linkedin messages, Twitter DM's. If you are underrepresented in the industry, you may be a door into VC that others might not have otherwise...
