não sei vocês mas essa narrativa da taylor vilã malvada da indústria me dar ainda mais orgulho de ser fã dela, sim fodase que ela impeça todo mundo de ser #1 quando puder
people are obsessed with pushing this narrative that taylor feels threatened by newer female artists (who she ABSOLUTELY paved the way for) & i’m afraid it all goes back to the same misogynistic rhetoric that’s related to wanting women to fade out as they grow older and
you can have your opinions on Taylor Swift but this constant push to say that women are "acting like teenagers" whenever they express excitement is sooo rooted in misogyny like nobody says this about men screaming at football games
I also think part of why people felt so "scandalized" is because the sex scenes were intimate. They weren't played for shock value or comedy, they were an important part of the story. And the actors had genuine chemistry. They didn't shy away from it looking and feeling real.
Say what you will about Luhrmann's ELVIS but the scenes where he's performing are almost pornographic. How can you make a Michael Jackson movie and shoot him doing Billie Jean in bland wide-angles like he's a Attenborough specimen 😭
I love eating. I love looking and feeling like a woman. I love having a BMI in the 20s. I love nourishing my body and feeling Venusian. Anorexia nervosa is not a beauty trend, it is a serious illness, but the sudden aestheticization of underweight bodies is. And as the fallout from things like the Jeffrey Epstein scandal demands mature feminine wisdom — women thinking clearly, using our discernment and our voices — the aestheticization of bodies associated with arrested development and a disorder that literally shrinks the brain should worry us. Frailty is not femininity.
