Delighted to feature in the @CobhTidy Calendar with a photo from our @HeritageWeek event in 2023 highlighting the unique heritage of the pier, its place in @USNavy and world history during WW1. Built to service US Field Hospital No. 4, it now protects sea swimmers from currents.

The girls from the U18.5 Dublin rugby team CDS came to Cobh last weekend and stayed in The Commodore Hotel.
On Sunday morning the team and their coaches walked to Whitepoint for a fun swim at The American Pier.

WW1 Cork Harbour Trail - Developed by Cork County Council, the Trail explores the significant history of Cork Harbour during World War 1.
No 8 is The American Pier - a historical landmark and valuable amenity for swimmers. It needs repair now or more than the Trail disappears!

Great news! The ever increasing number of swimmers in Whitepoint have a shower!
Thanks to @CobhTidy for getting the shower made here in Cobh and to a @Corkcoco local crew for installation. Just need the finance to repair the pier now.

We won! The Big American Swim, Heritage Week Event won the County Award for Cork at the National Heritage Week 2023 Awards. Community participation played such a role in an interesting, fun and social event that highlighted the value of and why the American Pier must be repaired.

An important day for our campaign to repair the American Pier as the case is made to An Taoiseach @LeoVaradkar to secure the quite modest funding to make this happen. Thank you to Cllr Sinéad Sheppard for organising the meeting with some of Cobh's Community Groups.

Repairing The American Pier is essential to preserve this outdoor recreational amenity in Cobh. There is fantastic community support and financial resources pledged for the project. An Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme application by @Corkcoco can make this happen.
