@_ontologic @mattparlmer The false positive argument isn’t valid because it stems from a misinterpretation of the stat. 10 minute response time, nobody with a gunshot wound, no local 911 report, neighbors refusing to talk to police /= false positive. All of these things are common in the ghetto.

ShotSpotter works pretty well, but it’s a tool that’s employed poorly in some metro areas. Then people cite statistics like “89% of alerts were false alarms”, when the truth is “89% of alerts could not be validated because the police response time was 8 minutes, no one was shot, locals won’t open their doors to police or even report a shooting.”

The system I’ve seen firsthand, from a plane, displayed an analysis-confidence ranked list of the triggered microphones from an alert. You could select a microphone and play the audio recording for validation. The triangulated alert located was fuzed with the L3 software and you could slave the camera ball to the exact coordinates in about 5 seconds from alert receipt. It wasn’t uncommon to see white hot shell casings on the ground via thermal view, right were shotspotter alerted. I frankly just don’t buy the claim that a vast majority of alerts were false alarms.

@_9th_Life_ 6’1 185, cutting on 2.5mg Reta. Sweet spot. Wife is 6’ 127, recomp on 500mcg. Any more and she’ll forget to eat. I’d be curious what 4-8mg feels like, but no way I’m going to try it.

I’m keeping an eye on it. Blood O2 stays normal. Low BP can cause shallow breathing. I think I psyched myself out reading about anaphylaxis and caused an adrenaline dump, which can cause dry/sticky mouth and heavy tongue feeling. No symptoms in the AM, and no difference with antihistamine.

@Dexter__Wright @IngrahamAngle The aerial refueling requirement was removed from the Boeing contract too back in 2017. Something’s gone seriously wrong if the president is on AF1, not on the ground or an E4B, and can’t land for fuel.

@360Chambers @TomJChicago AF1 is not a mobile command center in any comparable way to the E4B, which is what the president would be flying on, if he had to be flying, during a nuclear attack. If it’s so critical, why did the USAF strip the requirement from the new VC-25As being built?

@MarkMcD98814553 @BakiraChampion @Osint613 We don’t know everything, but an educated person can make reasonable guesses if you know what to look for. Im not an antenna guy, so I won’t take a stab at the comms package; but it is plainly evident that IR countermeasures are absent.
