🚨NEW: Carbon Capture tech allows fossil fuel companies to continue polluting. Today the UK gov pledged a WHOPPING 22bn to it.
That money could insulate millions of homes and build thousands of wind turbines.
These are the REAL solutions to STOP emissions AND bring bills down.
Every government of my lifetime has been rolling back the state in the name of "tough choices" rather than taking on the forces of organised capital who are making life in this country miserable and deadly for millions.
Macron won the support of the French far right to make Barnier - who openly supports ending all immigration - prime minister.
That was in order to block the left, who came top in the election.
It’s so called “centrists” who will pave the way for fascism. You have been warned!
The German far right are surging after less than 3 years of a government with politics very similar to those of Keir Starmer.
Labour and Starmer's ratings are already collapsing after just 2 months, with Reform consolidating.
It's not like we haven't been warned.
Imane Khelif’s case has exposed the contradictions in the so-called “gender critical” movement by forcing transphobes into a position where they’re arguing gender is ambiguous.
Imane Khelif was born with a cervix, but they have argued she is “too manly” for women’s boxing, and should be made to fight against men — which is not the gender she was “assigned at birth”.
As a result of this, “gender critical” activists have found themselves conceding that there is actually a biological component to gender fluidity, as they sought to claim Imane Khelif’s genetics gave her a sporting advantage — as if this is the first time in history someone has been genetically suited to a particular sport.
Another question is if a male boxer was considered “too womanly” would the same “gender critical” transphobes support him identifying as a woman if he wanted to? And compete in boxing against women? If not, why do they insist Imane Khelif - a woman - identifies as a man and competes against men?
“Gender critical” activists appear to want to force Imane Khelif to be a trans man, despite being born a woman and living her life as a woman. The case has exposed their hypocrisy and incoherence, as well as destroying any credibility in their claim to be standing up for women.
When politicians demonise migrants, the far right listen.
When they say refugees should be “sent back to where they came from”, the far right listen.
When they complain about asylum seekers staying in hotels, the far right listen.
Let’s promote a message of unity instead.
One that tackles the issues facing us all: the housing crisis, the collapse of our NHS and the disaster of privatisation.
One that gives hope to all communities that a fairer society is possible.
Stand up to racism. Defend refugees. Inspire belief in a better world. That is how you defeat the far right once and for all.
Far-right violence hasn’t come out of nowhere.
It is the result of anti-migrant rhetoric from mainstream politicians who scapegoat refugees.
We are an anti-racist movement that believes in a more inclusive world. We defeated the far right before. We will defeat them again.
been darkly interesting to watch some progressives lose their minds over the crumbs thrown their way during this first week, knowing that *this* is what Starmer’s Labour actually is: an evil party, committed to cruelty, in service of wealth
A lot of dogwhistle racism in the British press today about British Muslims partaking in our electoral process and expressing their right to vote and stand for Parliament.
That's not 'sectarian politics'. That's democracy.
When Reform do it, we're told to listen and engage.
