To mark International Women’s Day, West Ham's men's first team have paid tribute to the inspirational women in their lives by wearing training tops with their respective names on the back.

15 players paid tributes to their mothers. Michail Antonio chose Serena Williams. #whufc

The men side have agreed to a 25% pay cut for the women to receive a 25% pay rise... An independent football nation built on equality 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It’s mad that people have so much to say about mams who go above and beyond for their own kids at Christmas. We have about 7 years of them properly understanding and believing in Santa, and the magic of Christmas. And that’s it. This is why we try our best to make it so special

[Lionesses @Lionesses]

"This Christmas there'll be little girls asking for a pair of football boots and it'll classed as normal. That's what makes us happiest."

Special words from a special person.
