Marriage isn’t about 50:50. It’s not about 100:0 either.
Yesterday I wasn’t feeling well. Husb bought us dinner from pasar malam and fed me medicine while I was in bed. He ironed the clothes for us and the kids, did the laundry and washed the dishes.
Today, he went to bed early. Just after Isyak, he dozed off. I could see how exhausted he was. So I took care of the rest of the house chores, ironing the clothes, doing the laundry and washing the dishes.
You see, yesterday, it was 30:70. And today, it’s 70:30. The ratio is never fixed. Sometimes it’s 55:45. Sometimes it’s 60:40. Depends on day. Sometimes it even got to 43.8:56.2
Marriage is about partnership. It’s about complementing and backing each other up. You can’t define it by an exact ratio. As long as both respect each other, understand partnership and responsibility, they’ll make it, insyaAllah.
princess treatment doesn’t mean he buys me whatever i want. it means he LISTENS, he PROTECTS, he LEADS, he is HUMBLE, and he communicates. he doesn’t let me go to sleep crying or upset. he doesn’t make me feel like i’m hard to love. he is my PEACE in chaos and my HOME.
If a man can just sit there and watch you cry, ignore you while you're desperately trying to communicate, and still sleep peacefully while you're hurting, let's be real, that man doesn't love you.
maturing is realizing none of us are easy to be with. it's about who's willing to stay committed to understanding you and actually wants to grow with you.
