We are friends of the Salgado family. We do not speak for them, but we are in contact with them.
We call on Houstonians and the nation to march with us.

"They are demanding answers." Protesters gathered on the Dunlavy Street bridge over US-59 to rally against the fatal ICE-involved shooting of 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo.
Demonstrators holding signs and waving flags called for accountability as the community continues to push back against federal accounts of the incident.
FOX 26 will bring you continuing coverage on-air and online.
Actually, Lorenzo built his own house with his own hands, like so many others like him who built and build this whole city.
He built by hand the house his son and daughter in law live in now.
@amigosdesalgado He came in illegally and had to commit fraud to stay. Americans were victimized. He took a home from an American. He should have had to go back with all his kids. If he had just done so, he would be alive.
@HoustonChron Confiscate it all and pay it to the families of people killed by illegals. This guy was a criminal who tried to murder a law enforcement officer. Glad he is gone.
ICE is shifting from using jails to find undocumented immigrants, to arresting people on the streets.
Experts warn that arrests in public places raises risks of of violence — like what happened to Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston.

Harris County’s District Attorney tells OutFront federal officials are not sharing evidence about the deadly ICE shooting of a Houston man, including access to the van he was driving before the shooting: “Every day it goes on becomes more and more concerning.”
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo spent over 30 years working, raising his family, and building a life in America. He was killed by ICE agents in Houston during an operation in which he was not even the target. There were no body cameras and witnesses are disputing the official account.
His family deserves the truth. Every person in this country deserves to be treated with dignity and humanity. My father taught us that violence is never the answer. What we are seeing in communities across this country is a pattern of force and violence. No badge should be a shield from accountability. Without justice, there is no peace.

@SenTedCruz can you reach out to the Salgado family, meet them, and give them concrete steps on how you’ll ensure they have justice?
-Amigos de Los Salgado
First statement from Sen. Ted Cruz on Houston ICE shooting: “This is an active investigation, and I have full confidence that, once it is complete, we will have a full and accurate account of what occurred."

@Acyn Those words are good to hear, but can you fly and meet the Salgado family and lay out concrete steps on how you’ll do that and listen to them talk about their dad?
-Amigos de Los Salgado
@SecMullinDHS Respectfully Secretary, our friend’s dad was not a criminal and his children were hardworking US citizens.
You should meet with the Salgado family and make sure this never happens again.

Hating a good man like Lorenzo Salgado won’t make you any richer, happier, or closer to salvation.
What Ronaldo should have been worrying about is this dorky picture resurfacing, not the loss of hs father.
Fleeing arrest and disobeying officers does not meet legal standard for use of deadly force. A vehicle pursuit policy would mitigate risks and clarify circumstances in which ICE officers are authorized to shoot. But ICE ERO doesn't have a policy. More here https://t.co/RP2WqbiHsP
New gas station surveillance footage has surfaced regarding this week’s deadly ICE shooting.
Security video from a local gas station shows a white van believed to be driven by Lorenzo Salgado Araujo.
The low-resolution footage captures what appear to be ICE agents pulling an individual from the passenger side. It remains unclear whether this occurred before or after Salgado Araujo was shot.
“You don’t get to hide behind a badge,” Teare just said on radio. His office is first law enforcement agency to commit to an investigation outside of the feds.
