🚨Scott McTominay on Noussair Mazraoui’s performance in Scotland’s 1–0 defeat to Morocco:
🗣️ “The Mazraoui we prepared for was not the Mazraoui we came up against tonight.
“We knew he was a top player, but the level he showed was unbelievable. He was an absolute beast out there and, honestly, he was one of the toughest opponents I’ve faced.
“He won aerial duels we never expected him to win, covered so much ground, and made it incredibly difficult for us to create anything down his side. Every time we thought we had space, he was there.
“His delivery into the box was excellent, his composure on the ball was top-class, and he always seemed to make the right decision under pressure.
“He reminded me of some of the best full-backs in the game. He had the attacking quality of Marcelo, the energy of Alphonso Davies, the intensity of Theo Hernández, and the intelligence and versatility of Joško Gvardiol.
“There were moments where he brought back memories of legends like Roberto Carlos and Jordi Alba—players who could dominate both defensively and offensively.
“When a full-back performs at that level, there isn’t much you can do except respect it. He was outstanding tonight and a huge reason why Morocco got the win.”
