Couldn’t take my eyes off it.

No roads. No railheads. No helicopters.

Just the abode of Lord Shiva, cradled by the Himalayas

Back then, the yatra demanded time, endurance, & faith. The journey wasn’t incidental; it WAS the pilgrimage.

Today, access is easier. And that’s a good thing because it opens the experience to many more.

But perhaps something still needs preserving?

The ability to slow down & savour the experience of traveling.

Because journeys are about who we become along the way.

एक बार लताजी से किशोर कुमार जी ने पूछा कि "दीदी, आपको मेरे गाये हुये गानों में से कौनसा गाना सबसे अधिक पसंद है?" लताजी ने कहा कि "दादा, बोल दूं या गाकर सुनाऊं?" किशोर कुमार जी ने तुरंत कहा कि "दीदी, गाकर ही सुना दीजिये।" लताजी ने हंसकर कहा कि "अभी नही, फिर कभी।" लताजी के जन्मदिन पर किशोर कुमार जी उनको गिफ्ट भेजते थे। उस दिन लताजी के जन्मदिन पर उनकी की तरफ से किशोर कुमार जी को भी एक गिफ्ट पैकेट आया, जिसको खोलने पर लताजी का एक पत्र मिला, जिसमे लिखा था कि "दादा, आप हर जन्मदिन पर मुझको गिफ्ट भेजते हैं। मेरी तरफ से यह रिटर्न गिफ्ट है। बताना कि यह गिफ्ट कैसा लगा?" पत्र के साथ एक टेप था जिसमें लताजी ने किशोर कुमार जी का गाया हुआ एक गाना अपनी आवाज़ में hmv स्टूडियो जाकर केवल किशोर कुमार जी के लिए रिकॉर्ड कराया था, जो बहुत ही दुर्लभ मिसाल है। आप भी सुनिए, लताजी की आवाज़ में किशोर कुमार जी द्वारा गाया हुआ यह गाना।
