मई की रात 2 बजे गर्मी से उनकी आँख खुली। पंखा चल रहा था, AC बंद था। _"एक घंटे बाद बंद कर देता हूँ, वरना बिल बहुत आएगा," बड़बड़ाते हुए उन्होंने करवट बदली पसीने से कुर्ता भीग गया था

अगली सुबह घुटने में दर्द उठा। डॉक्टर ने कहा, _"शर्मा जी, नी रिप्लेसमेंट करा लीजिए 6 महीने में दौड़ने लगेंगे।" शर्मा जी ने रिपोर्ट बैग में रख ली। "अभी तो चल रहा हूँ 4-5 लाख खर्च हो जाएंगे। रहने दो।"
बैंक में 3 करोड़ थे, पर मन में डर था - "कल को कुछ हो गया तो?"

बेटा अमेरिका से आया "पापा, चलो केदारनाथ चलते हैं आपने हमेशा कहा था जाना है बिज़नेस क्लास की टिकट करा देता हूँ, घुटनों में दर्द है आपको।"

शर्मा जी बिदक गए "पागल है क्या? 80 हज़ार एक टिकट की? स्लीपर में चले जाएंगे ट्रेन भी तो वहीं पहुँचाती है।"12 घंटे स्लीपर में, दर्द से रातभर कराहते रहे केदारनाथ के दर्शन दूर से ही किए सीढ़ी नहीं चढ़ पाए

एक दिन वृद्धाश्रम में उनके दोस्त वर्मा जी मिले वर्मा जी ने हाल ही में स्विट्ज़रलैंड घूमकर आए थे "शर्मा, 72 का हूँ कल का क्या भरोसा? मैंने 'खुशी वाला फंड' बनाया है 20 लाख अलग रखे हैं नियम एक ही है - ये सिर्फ़ खर्च करने के लिए हैं बचाने के लिए नहीं। इससे मैं हर साल एक देश देखता हूँ"

आज 75 साल के शर्मा जी गोवा में बीच पर बैठे हैं हाथ में नारियल पानी, चेहरे पर सुकून उन्होंने आर्थिक दौड़ 40 साल पहले जीत ली थी ज़िंदगी की दौड़ अब जीत रहे हैं

क्योंकि पैसा अगर जीते जी खुशी न दे , तो वो कफ़न में जेब नहीं होती।

LEDs are more energy-efficient, yet they also pose a threat to human health.

For the past two decades the global shift toward energy-efficient light-emitting diodes has drastically altered how we light our homes and offices. While highly beneficial for reducing electricity bills, these lights emit a narrow spectrum dominated by short blue wavelengths and entirely lack the long-wavelength red and infrared light found in natural sunlight and older incandescent bulbs.

Emerging research led by Professor Glen Jeffery at University College London shows that our cells’ powerhouses, the mitochondria, rely on these missing red wavelengths to function. Without them, mitochondrial respiration is suppressed, leading to systemic infrared starvation that can disrupt cellular energy production, cause chronic inflammation, and accelerate aging.

This lack of natural spectrum light is more than a matter of eye strain; it has deep metabolic consequences. Studies show that exposing the body to specific red and near-infrared light stimulates mitochondria to consume more glucose and oxygen, dramatically reducing blood glucose spikes and regulating insulin levels. Conversely, prolonged indoor exposure to red-deficient, blue-heavy LEDs is linked to metabolic dysfunction and cellular degeneration, contributing directly to chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline, and vision loss.

As public health researchers warn of this modern environmental hazard, experts suggest reintroducing balanced full-spectrum lighting or simple red-light exposure to help restore our natural metabolic rhythms and protect long-term health.

Shivcharan Gupta, 74, a cloth merchant living in an old age home in Sonipat, died yesterday. He had three daughters; sadly and surprisingly, not one of them turned up for his funeral.

He and his late wife had raised and educated their three daughters, ensuring they were all self-reliant and well-settled, two as schoolteachers, residing across Nepal, UP, and Mumbai. After his wife passed away, Shivcharan lived alone at the old age home, keeping a mobile phone solely to stay in touch with his children.

The manager of the old age home told the media that they had informed his three daughters 20 days ago about his deteriorating health, yet none made the trip to visit him. As his illness worsened, the daughters stopped taking his calls altogether. When Shivcharan finally died, the management immediately contacted them again and offered to hold off on the final rites until they could arrive, but none of the sisters agreed to travel.

Instead of showing up to bid their father farewell, the eldest daughter transferred ₹5,100 online to cover the ritual expenses and requested that the funeral be streamed over a video call. Though they initially asked the staff to preserve his ashes, they quickly backtracked, stating they "did not have time" to pick them up and requested that the old age home handle the immersion in the Ganges as well.

This is so tragic. If a life spent raising children ends in total solitude, one cannot help but ask what the long journey was truly for.

Years ago, I was at the Oberoi in Delhi for a Sunday unlimited champagne breakfast. I asked the waiter for a mimosa. He said he didn’t know what a mimosa was. I explained: “Half champagne, half orange juice.”

His reply: “Sir, you can order champagne or orange juice, but not half and half.”

So I ordered a glass of champagne, a glass of orange juice, and an empty glass. Then I mixed the mimosa myself.

The problem wasn’t the waiter. It was a mindset that values following rules over solving problems. Nations don’t become great by producing people who obey instructions perfectly. They become great by producing people who think.

गुजरात में एक बड़ी फैक्ट्री का निर्माण हो रहा था और उस प्लांट को बनाने के दौरान एक बड़ी समस्या थी. वो समस्या ये थी कि एक भारी भरकम मशीन को प्लांट में बने एक गहरे गढ्ढे के तल में बैठाना था लेकिन मशीन का भारी वजन एक चुनौती बन कर उभरा
मशीन साईट पर आ तो गयी पर उसे 30 फीट गहरे गढ्ढे में कैसे उतारा जाये।

ये एक बड़ी समस्या थी !!
अगर ठीक से नहीं बैठाया गया तो फाउंडेशन और मशीन दोनों को बहुत नुकसान उठाना पड़ता।

आपको बता दें कि ये वो समय था जब बहुत भारी वजन उठाने वाली क्रेनें हर जगह उपलब्ध नहीं थीं।

जो थीं वो अगर उठा भी लेतीं तो गहरे गढ्ढे में उतारना उनके बस की बात नहीं थी।

आखिरकार हार मानकर इस समस्या का समाधान ढूढ़ने के लिए प्लांट बनाने वाली कम्पनी ने टेंडर निकाला और इस टेंडर का नतीज़ा ये हुआ कि बहुत से लोगो ने इस मशीन को गड्ढे में फिट करने के लिए अपने ऑफर भेजे।

उन्होंने सोचा कि कहीं से बड़ी क्रेन मंगवा कर मशीन फिट करवा देंगे, इस हिसाब से उन्होंने 25 से 30 लाख रुपये काम पूरा करने के मांगे।

लेकिन उन लोगो के बीच एक बनिया था जिसने कंपनी से पूछा कि अगर मशीन पानी से भीग जाये तो कोई समस्या होगी क्या ?

इस पर कंपनी ने जबाव दिया कि मशीन को पानी में भीग जाने पर कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता,
उसके बाद उसने भी टेंडर भर दिया ।

जब सारे ऑफर्स देखे गये तो उस बनिये ने काम करने के सिर्फ 15 लाख मांगे थे,
जाहिर है मशीन बैठाने का काम उसे मिल गया।

लेकिन अजीब बात ये थी कि उस बनिये ने ये बताने से मना कर दिया कि वो ये काम कैसे करेगा,
बस इतना बोला कि ये काम करने का हुनर और सही टीम उसके पास है।

उसने कहा – कम्पनी बस उसे तारीख और समय बतायें कि किस दिन ये काम करना है।

आखिर वो दिन आ ही गया,
हर कोई उत्सुक था ये जानने के लिए कि ये बनिया काम कैसे करेगा?

उसने तो साईट पर कोई तैयारी भी नहीं की थी

तय समय पर कई ट्रक उस साईट पर पहुँचने लगे।
उन सभी ट्रकों पर बर्फ लदी थी, जो उन्होंने गढ्ढे में भरना शुरू कर दिया।

जब बर्फ से पूरा गढ्ढा भर गया तो उन्होंने मशीन को खिसकाकर बर्फ की सिल्लियों के ऊपर लगा दिया।

इसके बाद एक पोर्टेबल वाटर पंप चालू किया गया और गढ्ढे में पाइप डाल दिया जिससे कि पानी बाहर निकाला जा सके।

बर्फ पिघलती गयी, पानी बाहर निकाला जाता रहा, मशीन नीचे जाने लगी।

4-5 घंटे में ही काम पूरा हो गया और कुल खर्चा 1 लाख रुपये से भी कम आया।

मशीन एकदम अच्छे से फिट हो गयी और उस बनिये ने 14 लाख रुपये से अधिक मुनाफा भी कमा लिया।

वास्तव में बिज़नेस बड़ा ही रोचक विषय है।

ये एक कला है, जो व्यक्ति की सूझबूझ, चतुराई और व्यवहारिक समझ पर निर्भर करता है।

मुश्किल से मुश्किल समस्याओं का भी सरल समाधान खोजना ही एक अच्छे बिजनेसमैन की पहचान है।

फिर एकबार बनिये ने साबित कर दिया कि बनियों की सोच सबसे अलग और आगे रहती है l
