आता ह्या पुढे लोकसंख्येवर आधारित लोकसभेचे मतदारसंघ तयार केले तर दक्षिण भारतावर मोठा अन्याय होईल. २०२६ साली मतदारसंघांची पुनर्रचना होणार आहे आणि मतदारसंघ वाढणार आहेत. अशावेळी फक्त लोकसंख्येवर आधारित मतदारसंघ बनवणं चूक ठरेल.

कारण, एका अर्थानं लोकसंख्या कमी करण्याचं धोरण यशस्वी पणानं राबवलं म्हणून दक्षिणेच्या राज्यातील खासदारांचं प्रमाण तुलनेनं आजच्यापेक्षा कमी होईल.

वास्तविक केरळ, तामिळनाडू, आंध्र प्रदेश, कर्नाटक आणि तेलंगणा ह्या राज्यांनी मानवी विकासात (लोकसंख्या नियंत्रण, शिक्षण, आरोग्यसेवा, महिलांचा विकासातला सहभाग इत्यादी) खूप प्रगती केली. आर्थिक प्रगतीही केली. बघा ना, केवळ १८% लोकसंख्या असूनही जीडीपी मध्ये त्यांचा वाटा ३५% आहे. पण, २०२६ मधे तुलनेनं त्यांचे खासदार कमी होणार.

ह्याबद्दलची अस्वस्थता दक्षिणेत आहे. काल ती तेलंगणाचे मंत्री के. टी. रामा राव ह्यांनी बोलून दाखवली.

महाराष्ट्रानंही ह्यावर विचार करून आपली भूमिका मांडली पाहिजे.
