Community Clubs for Girls are safe spaces where girls can learn, lead, and thrive. From life skills and mentorship to health education and creative expression, these clubs build girls’ confidence to talk about issues that affect them.
Listening to young people is the first step towards empowering them to become confident, informed and resilient leaders says the senior Woman of Raise Up a Child Primary School
we put books into the hands of children and opened doors to imagination, learning and opportunity. Every book shared is a step toward a brighter future.

Yesterday, my team and I at @TranscendAfric had the honor to host partner members of the @WezeshaGirls for the Post International Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management Day celebration at Kira Senior Secondary School.
The day started off with the #YouthWithPurpose Mentorship activation, an interaction with S4-S6 students on Digital Literacy, Self Branding , Career Guidance, and general SRHR information.
Later alone we dived into Powerful speeches from key Partners that reminded us how menstruation is normal, biology is not a barrier.
We also had two Panel discussions, one with young leaders, advocates, the second one with students and staff tackling period shame head on from mental health effects to how boys and male teachers can be allies.
Am grateful to @RaisingTeensUg2 and @amity_uganda for the Pad donation to students which were officially handed over to keep girls in school and in dignity.
Hosting this with @WezeshaGirls partners, teachers, and students showed me what’s possible when we speak openly and act together.
Grateful for every hand that made this happen. This is what #PeriodFriendlyWorld look like.
I had the privilege of speaking to students as a keynote speaker during the Post-Menstrual Hygiene Management Day celebrations under the theme, "Together for a Period-Friendly World."
In honor of #MHMDay2026, we joined @TranscendAfric our partner under the @WezeshaGirls, for the post-International Menstrual Hygiene Day celebrations at Kira Secondary School.
The day was filled with meaningful engagement as we facilitated sessions on menstrual health and hygiene with young people.
Having both boys and girls in the same space made the conversations even more powerful. It was encouraging to see how openly they participated, asked questions and sought clarity on issues that are often surrounded by silence and stigma.
Their curiosity reminded us that young people are ready for accurate information when given the opportunity. They are not just learners but also key voices in shaping healthier, more informed communities.
As part of our contribution towards menstrual dignity, we also donated sanitary pads to support the girls in managing their periods safely and confidently. This small but important gesture reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that no girl misses out on opportunities because of her period.
We are grateful to all the partners who joined us and contributed to the success of the day. Together, we remain committed to breaking stigma, promoting dignity and creating a #PeriodFriendlyWorld for all.
Our Keynote Speaker @shallote_yk, the Co founder at @WezeshaGirls carried with her powerful words for the young generation. She spoke with clarity and care. Her message to the students was simple ,protect each other’s dignity. Girls, speak up. Boys, stand up as allies.
We closed the day with voices that matter most , male and female students and staff representatives from Kira ss
Students admitted silence has been the norm, but the day broke it. Staff acknowledged gaps in facilities and awareness, and committed to do better. Post #MHMDay2026
