A Hindu woman was in a long distance relationship with Sikander Ahmed alias Sonu. On 22 June, she visited Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur for a wedding function where they decided to meet up. Around 9 pm, she went out of the banquet hall. The next morning, her body, smashed with bricks, was found. She died yesterday. Sikander has reportedly told the police she refused to have physical relations with him.

Cases like these have become such everyday news that it’s impossible to remember names of the victims anymore. English newspapers don’t even give them space unless they happen in Delhi and murder is particularly brutal.

Of these heinous communal crimes, the only information that is picked up by global media is that Hindutva government demolished house of the killer from oppressed minority
