Anxiety & depression is horrible & can be crucifying as a sufferer of both, people choose too see what they want too.
Unfortunately people don’t talk about it enough through judgement.

So, some of us with fibromyalgia have what’s called Tactile Allodynia.
This is when your skin is extremely sensitive to pressure. The lightest touch can cause pain. Tactile Allodynia is a neurological condition. It’s an over amplification of pain in the central nervous system of course and its two forms are pain from being touched and pain from temperature.
Do you have this and what does yours feel like? For me its major pain from clothing to a simple breeze. Mostly in my legs, arms and shoulders.

Did you know Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) frequently go together?
The reason why is not really known, but all three conditions include imbalances of the chemical Serotonin, the first 2 in the Brain and IBS in the Gut. All can begin after another illness and are strongly linked to stress.
IBS and Fibromyalgia are both associated with hypersensitivity, one in the Intestines and the other in the skin and muscles. If you suffer from IBS, it means your Intestine is not functioning correctly. The actual structure is fine, but the condition is caused by intestinal stretching or disordered muscle movement which causes intense pain.
The condition tends to get worse over time and can be irritated by certain medication and food. It can be debilitating and can impose a lot of restrictions not only on your diet but your lifestyle as well.
Depending on its severity it can really impact on day-to-day life making it impossible to attend social functions, go to work or travel short distances from home.
Symptoms of IBS include:
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Bloody stool
Nausea and vomiting
Gas
Bloating
Abdominal distention
Anemia
Abdominal pain and cramping that wakes you up or keeps you awake
Unintentional significant weight loss
Some People may also have other Symptoms, they include:
Anxiety/ Depression
Fatigue
Headache
An unpleasant taste in the mouth
Sleep problems
Heart palpitations
Skin rashes
IBS is diagnosed by identifying pattens in the above signs and symptoms and your doctor may do some other tests to rule out things such as:
Ulcerative Colitis
Crohn’s Disease
Colon Cancer
Food sensitivities
Although IBS is a chronic condition there are a lot of treatments available to help you manage the symptoms and make you feel so much better, they include:
Prescription diarrhoea medications
Prescription Constipation medication
Over the counter medication
Dietary changes
Stress management techniques
IBS typically overlaps with Fibro suggesting there is a common cause. Research shows the link may be related to the presence of Bacterial Overgrowth in the Small Intestine.
Sticking to a treatment regimen can minimize your symptoms which in turn means each condition will have less impact not only on each other but on your life as well.

Hello Everyone
When you are diagnosed with fibromyalgia one of the first things to go through our head is “IS THIS ILLNESS PROGRESSIVE”.
Many doctors will tell you it’s not, so if that was the case how come most of us seem to go through “SIX DIFFERENT STAGES OF FIBRO”
STAGE 1: You will find you start to experience more pain and fatigue than you have before. You may still be able to work but you know something is not right, so you go to the doctors.
STAGE 2: You are in pain a lot and are taking over the counter pain killers which don’t help, and you realise the pain is not going to go anytime soon. You may still be working and spending time with family and friends but feel a lot of pain and fatigue almost every day.
STAGE 3: You are in constant pain and constantly tired. You question if you will ever function normally again. You are thinking of giving up your job and you start to turn down invites from family and friends as all you want to do is rest all the time. At this stage you start to feel more alone. This stage can last for Years.
STAGE 4: You have pain all the time and good days are few and far between. When you do have a good day, you do as much as you can knowing you will pay tomorrow.
By this stage you have stopped working, friends and family make plans without you, people start to think your using fibromyalgia as an excuse for not doing things as stages 1-3 you could do so much more. You feel alone, isolated, worried, emotional and sad. This Stage can last Years.
STAGE 5: You will have stopped working, may be claiming benefits and have to have someone help you. You’re very sore, cry a lot and feel like a prisoner in your own body. You find it is only other “FIBRO WARRIORS” that understand your predicament and you wish family and friends understood the condition more.
STAGE 6: “THE FINAL STAGE”. Fibromyalgia is now your lifestyle. Most of your friends are people also living with the condition. It is easy to feel overwhelmed in this stage. You tried to do what you can but feel guilty you’re not pulling your weight at home, and you feel you are a burden.
Hope we have opened your eyes to the different stages you will go through.
I am stage 6. Which one are you?

@RadarLanark@TheDukesDeli1 It’s one of the hardest decisions you’ve had to make, I hope sharing it here has given you the outlet you’ve needed. Take Anne settling in period as yours also, time for you both to adjust and for you to have some time to breathe. It’ll take time for your mind to relax :)
@RadarLanark You’ve done the best thing for Anne. I worked in a dementia care home and it was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. Hopefully when you’re with Anne you’ll be able to capture the quality moments, please try not to feel guilty you’ve done the right thing for both of you x
