أحمد كان لا يضيع فرضًا في المسجد، ويعود من صلاة الجماعة لصلاة النافلة في بيته وقراءة القرآن في ذات المكان الذي استشهد فيه، عندما انهالت 80 قنبلة إسرائيلية على مربع التاج بحي اليرموك بغزة لتقتل ١٠١ شخصا.
